People have come up with ideas of awarding more points for a try from where the try movement started from - as an example a try movement that started from your 20 is worth 8 points and from 20 to your 50 is worth 6 points - from the oppositions 50 to their 30 - 4 points and in the oppositions 20 2 points.

Tarryn Aiken's try was worth the current 4 points - line break and chip kick over the fullback and winning the race for the ball to touch down - that was a try from a kick - showed a lot of skill to do that

      Options...
      1. Introduce some stupid rule relating to kick-offs.
      2. Fark with the rules so that tries off kicks are worth less.
      3. Leave the farking rules alone for a change!!!!

A try is a try. No need to change anything

Yep. TBH it'd probably make the game a lot more predictable because if you're up by 6 on the last play then you know they cannot kick the ball as it's not a 'real' try. Thus you'll just put everybody forward, mark everybody up as if it were a soccer game and make it impossible to score. Zzzz...

Watched the highlights from our game against the Warriors last season on Fox yesterday. If they changed the rules as suggested, the try Tupou scored where Sam Walker had the vision and skill to kick the ball 40m across field directly into Tupou's path would be worth less then a player burrowing over from dummy half. Whoever came up with this idea is a half wit at best.

Rugby League is no longer a purist game as it has become a TV Sport.
A thought - how many rules changes have been introduced prior commencement of 2020?
How many rules introduced during the 2020 season and others ?
                The total ?
The media deals finish this season and a new one for 2025.
A clear pattern obvious to me that rule changes are mandatory due to a quota written into the contract to create entertainment and click bait tabloid revenue for its engineered tv competition. The media contract deal a deal that it keeps on giving to itself and partners whilst the NRL is just the media and betting partners lackey.

Why do they need to keep changing rules.

                      Stupid idea.

So is hitting one out of the park worth two home runs? Should scoring from 3rd base be worth half a home run?

Stop trying to reinvent the wheel. It’s round and it works.
