    I think the video too.

Club couldn’t act at the time and were heaps quick threatening legal action to any media outlets.

I’ve done a lot of blow over the years and to me that vid was a bad look.

I’ve said it before on here but I’ll say it again.
I never got the hype around this bloke, average front rower who never excited me when watching him play.
I can’t recall one time where he didn’t jog slowly into the defensive line.
I reckon we did the right thing moving him on.

Yeah man 100% agree. The saving grace, was there was no actual evidence of them actually railing lines. May rubbing his nose and sniffing, Smiths eyes and the sweaty brow. All clear signs they were spiking up but because the video was vague, the club were able to sweep it under the carpet and had to "believe" the players were innocent but obviously they're not that dumb. The ring leaders in that vid were May and Smith, the two players that have been shown the door. Coincidence? Not likely.

Anybody on here watched the movie Moneyball? Brad Pitt gives you a perfect example of how to tell a person they are no longer wanted. It lasts all of 2 minutes and he explains exactly why it only lasts that long.

Anyone who’s been fired can tell you the following. The meeting is short, you rarely get any warning and you rarely get any real explanation unless you’ve breached your contract.

sometimes you just get moved on because you don’t fit into their plans.

I wonder how Robbo would feel if he were holidaying on the French Riviera and was fired over the phone?
My head would spin and I'd find it difficult to focus on my overseas mission.

That to me shows a lack of respect for May which makes me believe that something pretty bad went down.

The spin story from Robbo is just pure deflection.

I am not a fan of the coach. Know one has a clue what really happened. As Stone Cold Steve Austin says: " don't trust anybody ".

                GO ROOSTERS.

That’s fair enough, as long as we are happy for a player to do exactly the same and just leave the club mid contract.

would be an interesting comp with players just shuffling teams every few weeks.

They did it when they did to give May the maximum time to find another club. It was November 1st, the day when other clubs could negotiate with players outside their club. If they waited longer, he would have had less opportunity to find a club with cap space.

If the club gives a player permission to leave, November 1 doesn’t matter.

That’s why May said if the club really wanted to give him the best chance to find a club, they should of told him mid year, when more clubs had options to fill their roster.

The first paragraph excites me... maybe one day.

Jks. I'd never wish anyone to get the sack, especially someone who has contributed so much to the club. Doesn't mean it shouldn't happen though.

My guess would be that the club was legally bound and had to wait for the November 1st window before breaking the news to May.

Different story if May breached his contractional obligations.

It’s a very vague and unacceptable explanation to the fans and public. Imagine what other players must be thinking when it comes to job security? Here one day gone the next! There must be a really, really good reason otherwise all our team will be shaking in their boots not knowing if they’ll be next to be shafted because we’re heading in a different direction. Yeah towards the bottom of the table. Who would be crazy to take a job at easts after this? May’s playing the innocent victim and the club is willing to take a flogging by the media and fans. Hmmm.
