  • Justin Holbrook interview - SEN

Good interview yesterday with Justin Holbrook,

    > Highlighted Robert Toia as the one to keep an eye out for from the young crop coming through

    > Said the May decision wasn't made on the back of any one incident, he was a popular member of the squad and had no issues with him. Said Trent looked at the squad at the end of the year and wanted to move in a different direction with Whyte and Wong being a bigger part of the team next year.

    > Walker & Cheese both expected back around Round 15, Walker maybe a week or two earlier.

    > Confirmed Watson will do the full pre-season at 9 and will play there until Cheese is back.

I wonder if Tyler Moriarty will be the second Dummy Half and get his chance to shine in the NRL in 2025 ?

      Thanks for the update
a great 3 way battle for the centre positions next year with toia, Marky N and Billy smith all going for it
toia’s stats twice after coming back in nsw cup from acl injury was insane - especially last year with his first games against men and dominating

if we can be close to calculations for the 8 once smith and walker are back we may just make the 8
smith will come back with fire looking for a contract elsewhere

with May this is still perplexing - there were positions for Wong and Whyte anyway but robbos love affair with the butchers may still reduce Wongs game time

Watson our hooker. God help us. Pass from the ground and land the ball out in front of the play maker - this he can't do.

          Anyway, Robbo knows best. Apparently.

Watson so much better as a 13. What a shame Tyler M is so crap.

Thanks, I'll have a listen tonight as it sounds pretty interesting!

Wonder what this means for Wong and Whyte. I was under the impression that Wong was meh... not on the way out, but not seeing a meteoric rise either.

Whyte... I suspect he forma a big part of our long-term plan and is gonna be insanely good as he matures. I think he also matured after May re-signed so mighta forced Robbo's hand a bit there?

Can appreciate that if Robbo looked at the squad and went 'May's gonna struggle to fit into my best 18' then it's make sense to let another club utilise him better.

So what, round 1 could be...
              8. Collins
              9. Watson
              10. Leniu
              11. Crichton
              12. Radley
              13. Whyte

              14. [Moriety?]
              15. Butcher
              16. Wong
              17. Va'a

Can see it a tiny bit more clearly now...

I took it as Whyte must be picking up that first prop off the bench 50mins per game role and potentially Wong starting on an edge or at lock.

                8. Collins
                9. Watson
                10. Leniu
                11. Crichton
                12. Wong/Radley
                13 .Wong/Radley

                14. Whyte

I think Robinson is looking to go back to that power running game through the middle. Whyte & Wong are both much stronger carriers of the ball than May which is where I think the decision has been made.

Probably the first season in a long time I haven't really had a good idea on what the makeup of our pack will look like.

Did you know Marky Mark has never played centre in rugby?

Can Mark N read numbers in defense ? Dom Young can't.

Off the very small evidence I saw of Marky Mark his decision making in defence already looks light years ahead of Dom's.

Dom Young in the centres is an absolute nightmare waiting to happen.

Against the easier teams, he’s great. It’s the Penriths and the Melbournes where those deficiencies are exposed. Very hard to change your ways at this stage as well. He is fit and a good runner at least.
                              EASTS TO WIN!
