Have a ton of halves on the books going forward such as Hugo Savala, Jake Elliot , Toby Rodwell and Reece Foley.

People may not be aware that Jake Elliot started his junior rep career as a second rower in the Andrew Johns Cup for the Central Coast Roosters ( Under 16's).

    • To me Robbo's interviews & comments don't mean that much anymore. It's just gobbly gook from a coach who's been here too long.

The May "doesn't suit our style of play" comment is just bizarre. The way the whole saga played out was piss poor.

The 16 tries conceded in 3 finals games & being easy meat for Panthers & Storm was telling without even mentioning the 1 - 24 record against them last 5yrs tells me enough of our "style of play"

Me thinks that Robbo's "style of play doesn't suit" the Roosters anymore.

I can see Jake Elliot starting his NRL career in the centres tbh, has a bit of Matt Burton & Jack Wighton about him.

mmm the Roosters have only missed the finals once under Coach Robinson so the comment that Coach Robinsons ' style of play doesn't suit the Roosters anymore" has no legs as obviously it does to make the play offs the majority of those years - 2013 to 2024.

It's not just about the now it's also about the future as well when assembling a 30 player roster under a salary cap.

The Va'a brothers and Blake Steep are long term NRL Players and will get their chance to shine as will a host of other youngsters in 2025 and beyond.

May is very iffy on whether he wants to play or not as he said and in any case come November 1 2025 he would be free to negotiate with other clubs so no guarantee he would stay past 2026 in any case.

May received a significant pay rise as a result so best he concentrates on his new club and the extra cash he will receive.

          May's Roosters contract was 2 years - 900k
          May's Tigers contract is 3 years - 2 million

Parramatta have the best record of any team vs both Penrith and Storm but have zilch to show for it.

Brisbane have only beaten Storm 7 times all up since Storm came into the comp in 1998 and they have had some pretty fair sides during that period.

Storm were no match vs Penrith in the GF with Penrith basically in 3rd gear as they had the Storm more than covered.

Penrith have been the best team these past 5 years without any doubt - a hiccup in the 2020 GF the only blemish - certainly learnt from that to win the next 4 comps in a row.

There is not only a gap between Penrith and the other teams but also a gap between Penrith and the so called other big 2 team in the Storm.

Your analysis is myopic and doesn't account for the fact Melbourne beat Penriff twice this season, home and away. We haven't beaten Penriff anywhere in the last 10+ outings and I'd shudder to see the aggregate score in those games.

The Panthers were too good on GF day and are the best team in the comp but Melbourne are a heck of a lot closer to stopping them than we are. Sadly I think a few other teams might be aswell.

Only missed the finals once but each season apart from this past season has been a massive underperformance. This year we did make the prelim which would've been the absolute minimum acceptable but despite making it we got pumped by 30 points and were never really in the fight.

We aren't a team that should be happy just to make up the numbers in a final, I think since 2020 we've been happy to do that.
