The Mole gets his info from the Chookpen so he's probably seen this thread and written a story on it. I don't see us mentioned anywhere else at all and he's not a reporter who has any links with us, I would take it with a grain of salt to be honest.
The Mole gets his info out of his arrse and usually after a few days of Movicol. He's a has-been.
The mole is now reporting we are a dark horse and in contention to sign him as Doggies have pulled out. Merry-go-round continues.
in all seriousness though if we did sign him to replace May (ignoring $$$) would this be considered an Upgrade within the Pen ?
I read that, he said "The Roosters are probably interested too" which I don't believe for a second it's the classic play by the managers via the media to throw the Roosters in to a rumour to speed up negotiations. In fact this time it sounds like there is no interest from the club behind the scenes and just a "journalist" throwing a name out there because reasons.
As for Thompson's brother he only signed for 1 season at Newcastle I believe so he's free to go wherever Leo goes.
Rumours were that he is after 750k+ interesting because knights were going to offer him more than raiders, and his brother has also signed with the knights.
but he is a Raiders junior, so he might just want to come home.
I'd like to see him at the Raiders.
I think Canberra are going to be the big movers in 2025 they're are a tough gritty team.
I didn't think he was much better than Whyte in the NZ games this year. He certainly wouldn't be worth a lot more money on that form Whyte started in the final game while Thompson came off bench. Both got about the same minutes
Thomson just has a harder edge which I'd love to see Whyte develop.
How many years before they can offer what May does now ? I like the looks of all 3 of them....but none of them are having the effect on a game that May does anytime soon
Correct. It takes time for young players to develop as we all know. Look at Sandon Smith as an example, 30 games of NRL or so and still a big question mark over whether or not he'll be able to perform with Chad Townsend for the first half of the 2025 season.
Unless a player is particularly gifted I think the safest stance to take is minimum 2 years as a depth player before consistently playing first grade.
