  • Mark N on Bloke in a Bar

Because sharing is caring. I listened to it on Apple's podcasts app (while washing, painting and fixing one of my investment properties as the previous tenants neglected it and the property manager was like 'naaaah it's fiiiine'. I was like 'yeah nah... mould in the bathroom, curtains that don't work and a shytehouse cleaning job are NOT okay. No cleaning services over the weekend and they move in on Monday so I was like 'faaark this, I'm gonna do it myself then... don't care if they agreed to it... I'm not a shytehouse landlord').

It's also on YouTube though... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=67E6ugzeuQ8

Some decent character/developmental insights IMO. Kinda cool that he went to St Pats (an ISA school so probably went under the radar a bit?) made no junior rep teams and his trial with the Tahs was really just good luck.

Seems humble and honest. Glad he shared his story with us...

Group 1 Marky. He will be a star. Seems to have super high expectations on himself on everything he does.
Already becoming one of my faves.
I can't see him being just a backup wing or centre. I just hope he doesn't go back to yawnion after a couple of years.

Also did a podcast on What A Lad.

Don't listen to many podcasts, but that was good. Thanks for posting it ism, hope your windows were done properly.

I was thinking in horse racing parlance, comparing the two codes, if you were to compare Sualli going to Union, with Mark coming to League.

I'd rate Sualli as a Group 3 performed horse in league - picked for one Origin yes which gets him his Group 3 status, but lets face it, at no point did he ever set the world on fire in the NRL. Has upside sure, be he's chosen to drop down in grade - incredibly for double the cash. In racing it's the opposite, but anyway...that's why Union will go broke

So Sualli drops in grade. He goes to Union and becomes their biggest star and is instantly picked in the Wallabies side before he even plays a club game, and is then their best player. He is the Wallabies best, highest paid and most valuable player, already.

The top of the pile in Union, are Group 3 standard in league.

Mark is on the other side of the ledger. He is going way up in class. For him to even be at Suallii level, he has to be top of the pile Union.

But he's doing the opposite of Sualli - going up in grade probably for the same or less money.

Hope he makes it, I like how he already speaks respectably and professionally about the Roosters.

Cheers I'll search for the What A Lad poddie (haven't seen it before).

Hopefully he stays. Sounds like he has lotsa friends who are Easts fans so hopefully that keeps him interested. Also has Teddy as his Italian bro. It's great having 2 Italians on the team

              Will be better then Manu
loves the tough contact and continually goes in looking for the ball
things Manu lacked at centre most of the time
coming on a bargain $500k compared to Manu and suaali wage
a lot more naturally footy minded player then Suaali

I rate Suaali as an athlete but was was still very limited with a lot to learn and defence and also most areas of his attack

Marky N and Billy smith will start in the centre with toia right on their heels to get in

Robinson spent 2 years trying to turn Sualli (a ready made top class winger) into a centre. Well done Robbo you did it with 2 games to spare. What makes anyone think Robbo wont stuff Mark N up in the same way.

He did OK with that kid Joey Manu. Oh, and that other kid, Latrell Mitchell.

And countless other young players. One The Nose spends 99% of his posts bagging Robbo.

The most winningest coach in Roosters history. Who has built us a culture, when we never had one prior. What might on the nose have said about some of the other coaches? Back in the really dark days. The Russell Fairfaxes, the Laurie Freyer's, even Freddie???

Now we're legitimately rated as one of the elite clubs. Like Mark N was saying in that podcast, he was a bit starstruck and in awe that he was actually dealing with the Roosters. Even as a Union guy, he's saying "it's actually the ROOSTERS I'm speaking with!, I was blown away".

We have so much to be proud about with this club. On the Nose sadly, will never experience that. The poor bastard.

Until he tried to turn Joey into a 5/8th. Fortunately, he kept Latrell at centre. Those that think spending 2 years, trying, unsuccessfully for the most part, to turn an expensive decent winger who was always only staying for 2 years into a centre was worth it, good for you. I disagree though. (it was such a slow burn and took the gloss of a JS achievements). Glad his experiment of turning Angus into the best centre in the world was short lived. I won't mention super centre Hutch or a dozen other 2nd rowers he slots in there when other actual centres are available. IMO Robbo was great up til 2020, then the game changed and he didn't. He came around last year, which is 4 years too late, considering most, other than Brad Arthur, adapted. I prefer to question Robbo than the players - 99.5% now, for those counting. Merry xmas.
