Right so an origin utility is not a real hooker? Noting, the alternative is an injured Kiwi international hooker and in 2026 another rep hooker is incoming. We ALSO made a play for Hunt.

Like... how many rep-grade 9's do you need on your books?

PS - ignoring the fact that Walker's a solid conversion kicker, I believe that Townsend (and Sandon) can kick conversions. Maybe Mark N can too?

A utility is not a hooker. A utility is a utility.

Always support the mighty R W and B.

Jahrome Hughes was a utility at one stage of his career. Just because you start as one thing doesn't mean your game can't evolve and the best thing about the situation is that Watson would not have been training as a utility but as a 9 for the whole pre-season.

Watson will nail it as dummy half and Moriarty as back up if given the chance.

As for goal kicking Townsend and Sandon Smith will do the job - Billy Smith can kick as well

I think Billy Smith & Nawaqanitawase will be the centre pairing for rd 1 if both are fit.

Here are some of my observations during today’s on field training session:

                  * Teddy, Toops and Billy sat out the contact session but were involved in ball work
                  * Marky Mark filled in at fullback
                  * Our left side backs were EButch and Pauga
                  * Toia played right centre
                  * Rads played right edge backrow
                  * Gus and Steep look huge physically
                  * Our right side defence still needs improvement

Rob Toia and Dom Young is a recipe for disaster…Toia is inexperienced and Dom Young, well…

                      Were the Seve brothers there?
was Taylor Lasalu , our NSW cup player of the year, involved in any work?

Heard that Guru is a Chooks fan but haven’t delved into his sphere much. Good to hear his brother Josh Durkin is coming through the ranks in the lower grades.

What I found interesting is his belief that the backup half should injury strike in the early rounds should be Reece Foley. I don’t think I’ve read his name on here from any of the pundits.

                        Thanks Bono

Not sure sorry as I don’t know what they look like yet!

But the reserves were giving the firsts a good run for their money!!

Dom Young for a player who only started playing league at 16 has done pretty well one has to say -73 NRL Game for 63 tries and all up 86 games for 81 tries - ESL/NRL/Tests for England.

A lot of players would love to have even have half the career Dom has had so far and at 23 his best footy is still in front of him.

Sad that posters on here bag him and other players when of course they have never reached any reasonable level of skill or achievement in any sport themselves.

Cheers. The guy's a bit of a random talking head but seems to know his stuff about just about every team, including random juniors and the like.

Much better than the random nobodies that the bookies inject into poddies to spruik all the best ways to lose money to the betting industry.

Been pretty busy exploring Saigon today so will have a look tonight.
