    Indeed.

Maybe so, but that was then and this is now.
He just announced a squillion dollar new sponsor.
Add up the dollar value of our jersey now, it's astronomical.
Too valuable to risk...hence in part the new policy.
Drugs are oh so 'yesterday', no longer cool.
      No longer acceptable.
Players at our club need to understand.

What do you think such drug use does to peoples brains and also to the children born to these drug addicts - drug babies is the term used - they can suffer impaired growth, birth defects, and altered brain development.

Then there are those that take drugs recreationally and you wouldn't know as they are normal functioning folk who work hard, pay their taxes etc etc. Your Plumber or Pilot when you last went on vacation, Post Man could be one of those recreational uses.

The only key difference imo between alcohol and drugs is that alcohol is legal. I don't take drugs however I try to keep an open mind and not judge people. Surely your wife see's the same major physical and phycological issues that are related to alcohol.

Lol…I remember my grandmother taking those powder things for headaches etc regularly. It wasn’t Bex but something similar. I can’t remember the name but she definitely seemed to be addicted to them.

The term "recreational drug use" is often mentioned but it does catch up with people eventually the same as "recreation drinking" does as well. - People once addicted want more and consume these more often.

Back in history folk drank beer rather than water as there was no proper sewage systems back then - the human and industrial waste went straight into the river making it dangerous to drink- Egyptians were big on beer back in the days of the Pharaohs rather than drinking the water from the Nile for instance.

The Great London Stink of 1858 forced the UK Government of the time to take action - Joseph Bazalgette Chief Engineer of the London Sewage System.

This reads like someone who is frequent mushroom doser.

Not sure why you would think or say that as I have never done drugs nor have any interest ever in taking them. - I have a very keen interest in history and watch many historical documentaries on a wide range of topics - i.e Sport history, Political changes , human advancements , famous battles and wars etc

One tour which I always wanted to do after seeing the Ken Burns Civil War Documentary Series was the Civil War US Tour which I did with two of my elder brothers - i.e Gettysburg . Shiloh , Antietam , Chancellorsville , Harpers Ferry, Fort Sumter , Appomattox Courthouse etc

Spoke to Bob Carr about this as well as he was a guest speaker at a PSA ( NSW Public Service Union) Annual Conference back in the day - He had a similar interest in US History etc.

Plus with Mrs Salvo to Egypt , Jordan and Israel and of course Russia for more history - Volgograd (Stalingrad ) , Saint Petersburg (Leningrad), Sevastopol . Kursk, Vladivostok etc

Some plans for retirement travel on my part include - have to convince Mrs Salvo of the US Part

                          * Nottingham Forest at the City Ground
                          * Ashes Test at Lords - 1 day
                          * New England Patriots - NFL - Home Game
                          * Atlanta Braves - MLB - Home Game

Of course other places in Europe / USA as well

"People who use cocaine regularly can experience:
                            . Poor mental function
                            . Bronchitis
                            . Anxiety
                            . High blood pressure
                            .. Paranoia
                            .. Seizures

They are at higher risk of:
                            .. Stroke
                            .. Heart disease
                            .. Infectious diseases
.. HIV, hepatitisB, hepatitis C, if they share needles.

Snorting cocaine can also damage the lining of your nose, increasing your risk of nose bleeds and nose infections.

Some long-term users may develop psychosis, which makes them:
                            .. Paranoid
.. Experience hallucinations or unusual thoughts
                            . Behave out of character."

                            #####

Hardly ideal for NRL players wishing to have a long and successful career, and happy life.

Roosters players on the field, in a (big) game, ...hallucinating, having poor mental function and unusual thoughts...instead of sticking to the game plan...would not be required for long...surely.
