He does. Owns the local Home Hardware store here. A mate of mine works there, says he's a top bloke. Flea's property was in Moruya I believe. 30 mins from here.

Can't bloody move down here at the moment, tourists everywhere. It's all pretty much over by Tuesday, thank God.

A third of Canberra is probably there. It’s dead quiet here today.

No disrespect Renty but I would say you & maybe 1 or 2 others on here have your beliefs on drugs & alcohol but the others on here have all done what I did on Friday night especially the drink.
Obesity, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol which I have none of but I believe you would have at least 2 of those conditions are also putting your family at risk with your lifestyle choices.

Penrith have been lucky with injuries they have managed to have their top team on the paddock for most of the year. The Chooks were going along beautifully until the Canberra game, we could have won the thing last year if our top team were all fit IMO.
Anyway mate I’m off to Yarra Bay today with the missus & the dog to have a swim eat some nice food have a few beers & celebrate Australia Day
        Enjoy your day
Speaking for everyone is a little presumptive. I’m sure there are quite a few others who don’t dabble in the nose candy. Even a few others who don’t even drink. Thanks for understanding my views tho. I’m not telling others what to do, just that I don’t see the appeal and think it could be quite dangerous to a family. Not just its effects on the human body but side effects if things went south. What if you got caught? You could face the distinct possibility of spending time away from your family. You could be mixing with suppliers who don’t exactly have your best interests at heart. It could cost you financially. Example to your kids?
There are plenty of reasons but I’m sure you know the risks. I hope they don’t bite you one day.

Oh, I don’t have high blood pressure or diabetes. Guess im just lucky!

The Riff had endured large chunks of their recent seasons without their biggest star and playmaker. If that happened to us, we are dead in the water. We need to find better alternatives.

Hope you enjoy the rest of the day mate. Sounds great!

        Happy Australia Day to all!

I’m not speaking for everyone that’s why I said “I would say” maybe 1 or 2 others on here have your beliefs on drugs & alcohol.
Then I said “but the others on here have all done what I did on Friday night especially the drink”
          Specifically referring to the drink.
          Like I said I admire that you’re a straighty
At the end of the day Renty you are in the minority because the majority of Aussies drink alcohol & a lot dabble in coke.
You’re also in minority on here because most on here drink alcohol & many have tried coke.
          Trust me.

The Panthers had 8 maybe 9 rep players in their team this year & have had top line rep players over the last 4 or 5 years so they were able to keep winning without Cleary but they wouldn’t have won the comp without him for the last 2 years.
The Chooks were extremely unlikely in 2024 with injuries at the wrong end of the year.

I had a top day drinking mate & I’m still not finished, I also hope you & your family are having a lovely Australia Day.

Bra Boys lol those pissants aren't relevant. I forgot about the Parramatta players involved with the Alameddine family (lower grade players directly doing work for them with first graders hanging out) lower grade league players getting murdered, others dishing out the violence, who was the player wearing the same outfit as a newly appointed gang leader at the dally M's one year I forget.

Also if you think our club is immune you'd be surprised who knows who and who comes from where, some of it at the very top of the playing tree iykyk

I’m not trying to be in the majority. In fact I work hard to be quite the opposite. Again, I refer to one of my original points, peer pressure. Just because others do it doesn’t mean you should. If all your mates jumped off a cliff, would you?

I’m genuinely curious… what are your reasons for partaking in such an activities? Never having done it, I’m curious as to why you would?

We aren’t the riff but we should be better than we are when we play them. As I said, I’m sure this year wont be as bad as predicted and will be a good one for building towards a solid future. I don’t know about you but for me with my RWB glasses on, we can still win it!

Guys like Conn and Meehan have been documented over the years. You can then add obvious fewlz like Watts and LOD to the list.

Current stars? Yeah nah... Teddy, Toops, Walker, Gussie and Collins are gangsters. Sorry to tell you.

There's clearly a reason why they've ruled a line in the sand though. As noted, I suggest it's probably to do with players laughing about the fact they need 2 or 3 dirty samples for the NRL to care (though the club will know if they get a dirty sample).

Incidents like Lodge and Gus' psychotic outbursts are enough to convince me that our club needs to minimise all connections with drugs, dealers. w@nksters and other men of low moral fibre where possible. Private individuals can do whatever the fark they want with their bodies and social lives. However I want our club to be full of ruthless athletes whose bodies and minds have NOTHING that could hold them back. One can do military camps and shyte to pull out all the dry metaphors about 'being in the trenches'...etc. Cool. However, IMO all this means bugger all if you make a bad call and/or lack consistency due to drugs rotting your brain... or... your cardio output is lowered by even a small percentage due to drug usage.

Since it's tennis season... we don't need naturally gifted fewlz like Tomic and Kyrgios who decide to shyte away their potential so regularly get towelled by unseeded nobodies from smaller countries with no tennis culture. We need players like de Minaur who's essentially a nobody by comparison but due to hard work and commitment he's consistently showing up with his A-Game... which is good enough to make a QF (and topple a few quality players along the way).

If people want a team full of Tomics and Kyrgios' who are highly rated but always injured and under-performing then sniff away. I'd personally rather have a team full of toilers who stay fit and consistent because they train properly. Yes a premiership probably needs a few superstars, but we want the right ones... not farkin' Ezra Mam, Walshie, Barba, Hayne, Trell Mitt and friends.

PS - Cleary and Cam Smith aren't gangsters

                        • It's clearly rife in most social circles in Sydney, which is a shame really. To me the main issue with drug use is allowing criminals who do farrk all with their lives to make money off your decisions. You spent all week working and blow a few hundred like it's nothing to some dead$hit to make double what you make. This alone should make you not want to try it. Each to their own. Sadly I'm in the minority. I'm on the younger side of the Chookpen (I'd hazard to guess) and I can tell you it's everywhere in the circles, it's up to the individual to say no.

In the case of footy players who have plenty of cash, it's probably having an air of invincibility. They're young and stupid. I don't know why theyd risk it with all the media scrutiny. I'm convinced all the clubs know about it and only tip the media off when they want rid of a player.

Good for Uncle Nick to make a stand and anyone questioning a self made billionaires thoughts needs to evaluate their life choices.

I think he knows exactly what he's doing. Think about it. There is a bit of a paradox in it all, considering it's an illegal substance and it's against NRL protocols to do it... a powerful chairman coming out saying we won't stand for it should be stating the bleeding obvious. What he's doing is likely drawing attention that it's rife throughout the NRL and nothing gets mentioned. Almost like it's an uncomfortable truth that Nick is calling the bluff of every other club and the NRL on by making a comment on it.
