It would be great to see both teams doing this well and sounds like they are. I've never really paid attention to the age group teams besides the 10 or so years there was the NYC comp from 2008 that was always fun.

Round 9 SG Ball
Sydney Roosters 32 defeat New Zealand Warriors 16
Leading into the game this looked like an easy win on paper up against the Warriors who had their first win of the season last week and it played out that way. Roosters looked comfortable throughout and went in 20-0 up at half time, guilty of taking their foot of the pedal in the second half but there was never any doubt about the win.
Best on Ground
3 - James Finegan, the starting right edge backrower had another great game. Was awesome in defence as usual, ran a great unders line for a line break finished with a flick pass to set up the 3rd try and then later in the second half just scored a try where he steam rolled a couple of the Warriors players. He's been one of my favourite players to watch this year, for the size of him he has absolutely no right to be doing what he's doing in this competition. Very talented.
2 - Itula Seve came off the bench this week but had a great impact scoring two tries, carrying strongly and lots of ground covered in defence. He showed some good footwork and a palm for his first try, breaking the line and then rounding the fullback. His second try he was just too big, too strong. I thought today was his most well rounded game, looks good.
1 - Darcy Smith the left edge backrower again just ultra consistent, lots of quality and competes hard. Was great to see him dirty about being taken off midway through the second half when Cords was trying to get some of the other guys some minutes, love to see that from a player even when the game was well and truly won. Scored a really nice try running back into the ruck and middle of the field, good acceleration, footwork and then strength to put it under the posts.
Other thoughts
- Jackson Stewart good again at the back, nice play to set up the first try of the game chiming in on the back line.
- Luis Lee the left centre had a good game and did really well to finish the first try of the game, always a threat on that left edge. Good palm and good footwork.
- Toby Rodwell had a decent game, two nice short balls to set up tries but kicking game was a bit off today.
- Phillip Lavakeiaho has to start next week otherwise we need an investigation enquiry held by the man himself Geoff Toovey, he's just an absolute beast.
- Kanaan Magele I thought had a really strong first stint, really strong carrier of the ball and helped set up the dominance in the first half.
- Peter Benjamin-Uini seemed to pick up a leg injury and played on but didn't come back on for a second stint, so not sure if it was just precautionary or if he might miss next week.
- Still no sign of Jax Allen after his head knock in the NSW Cup a few weeks ago, hope the kid is doing ok. May have been more than just a concussion.

Some impressive talent coming through our junior pathways
The Roosters HM side has a top notch forward pack,
I expect Charlie Webb, Jackson Rodwell, Marquis Sando, Paula Teisina and Lachlan Metcalf all to be in the thick of it today.
SG Ball is full of guns too, Rodwell, Walker, Lee, Dooner, Magele, Uini, Seve and Lavakeiaho to name a few
I am tipping these two teams to come away with wins today

Yeh Warriors too big too powerful through the middle. Te Rore is a really big miss and Va'a off the bench would've been handy.
16-0 at Half time to the Warriors, played out a similar way last week with Roosters really struggling in the first half and then making a good fightback to win it late so they'll be confident they can do it again.

The CC Roosters Harold Matt’s side beat Parra today to advance to week 2.
Remember the name Carter Mareko who plays 5/8. His immediately family are close family friends and I was talking to his dad last night who said his contract runs out in a couple of weeks and multiple clubs are interested but the Roosters are going all in to resign him. He’s spent a fair bit of time with Pearce this year working on his game.
Also this week his side had an opposed session against our First grade team and Robbo had a good chat to him during the session.
He carved up today and is the leading point scorer for HM this year. Try scoring machine and also a great goal kicker.
Remember the name. Exciting times for our CC pathways.

The ball handling was atrocious by the HM Roosters they are a much better team than that, hopefully they learn from that and revert back to the "smart" football that got them there.
We might be up against our other team the HM CC Roosters next week.
Boyd Cordner's Roosters SG Ball side easily beat the previously undefeated minor Premiers Parramatta, 32-12. The Roosters have now earned next week off.
The Rooster Forwards again dominated, the meters they have made in every game this year has been incredible, 20 meter post contact runs being a common occurrence.
Toby Rodwell was best on field. His solo try followed by a 40/20 in the next play was worth the admission alone.
Centre Lui Lee is one to watch big, busy and robust.
