I mean I keep hearing kicking game this and that but I read some where on the net that Pearce's kicks have broken origin records as in meters gained that means NSW played deep in Queensland Territory in both game means they dominated field position which we know they did they just dont have the amount of spark in attack that Queensland have they have heaps of game breakers that can turn the game in a flash.
Pearce has better confidence in first grade and he will get that in Origin....now lets see even the great Andrew Johns had to play Hooker for a couple of years in Origin .....why is that? Oh yeah he was a better Hooker than a half....lol
Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe

If their looking at Pearce's game last night it was stifled by Farrah's obsession with the ball .Farrah was great but over played his hand .The backs came to life when Farrah kept out of it for 10 minutes and pearce and Carney did there thing -two tries and almost another be it they were one man down.
Cronk talk well he took 6 years in first grade before he even came on to his own playing second fiddle to others in his side.
We just have slack non committed side at the moment its more of the same that we have been last 7 years .
You want Pearce to play great ? then tell the forwards to not miss tackle and make good yards instead of average and would help if he had backs that could play not even Andrew Johns could ignite this rabble.
I said the same thing mate. Farah cut Pearce out a couple of times when there was space out wide and we had a backline set up. Robbie needs to do less with the ball and let the halves run the show.

      Chook.

I have always criticised Farrah at every opportunity but I have to admit he was brilliant last night.

In defence he was, but in attack he tried to do too much instead of leaving it to the halves.

            Chook.

And it would also weaken one of our strengths as we have Jake the rake there already.

To me Pearce is getting there as a halfback, much improved this year but his kicking game I still find very frustrating to watch. Coming up with the right kick at the right time just doesn't seem to come naturally to him. Some of those nothing kicks straight to Slater last night from an attacking position, I just don't get where those come from, surely he doesn't practice those.
Then he pulls out the occasional blinder like the Anzac Day match and gets most of the kicks right and you wonder why he can't just do that every week.
Anyway I don't agree with moving him to 9, he will get there as a 7. I do think Jake at 9 needs to be addressed though. Use to be a big fan but losing the love this year. He is a big part of our problems in attack, slow indecidive sloppy service, too much blindside action, rubbish kicks, blah all round.

It's largely academic because 7 and 9 are so similar.

But for some reason I reckon Pearce would could be a really great 9 as opposed to a really good 7.

Maybe it's because I'm getting sick of Friend. Be nice to have more than a tackling machine at rake.

you might like to explain where pearce had anything to do with the try resulting from the run of hayne ....i missed it

In relation to last night you have to factor in just how good Slater is positionally - Pearce didn't find much grass last night but few do when Slater is the opposing fullback.

He's unbelievable, every kick Mitch sent downfield I was praying for him to find the turf, but no matter how far away Slater was he still got to the ball on the full 99% of the time, unbelievably difficult player to kick to!

I have always seen Pearce as a potential excellent hooker.

In fact, i dare-say Pearce would perhaps make a better hooker than Friend.

Doubt we'll ever see it happen though. The club wouldn't pay that much for a hooker

He's not big enough for a hooker.

He's actually taller than friend & only a bit lighter.

Oh yeah no doubt about that on the long kicks, slater is amazing and will get to it on the full every time, but I am more talking about the kicks from close-ish range, like 30 or 40 metres out when he just kinda kicks it flat on the full straight to the fullback, just a nothing kick that gives it straight back to them with no pressure. Pearce does it a lot, for us and NSW. Gus commented on it a couple of times last night.
