We are a weaker team this year than we were last year and we looks light-years away from the minute to minute grind and consistency required to beat Melbourne and the Riff. So how can we expect improvement in that department this year?

This year will be about building habits in our young blokes and priming them for the new few years after that. I think Robson coming in '26 with Sammy back will be a huge help. Also expect us to make a big signing during the season for next year.
    Yep 100% agree.

I'm reasonably confident that Robbo will tell us that 'we're ready to go' come round 2.

Kelly's Heroes is a Movie and a darn good one too.

I remember back in the day going to the Drive-In at Narellan with a few other Siblings and our Parents where we seen the Battle of Britain / Dirty Dozen/Kelly's Hero's.

Our Father had the Valiant Regal Station Wagon and reversed into the car spot so we could lay down and watch it - The Parents had fold up chairs and watched the movies from the office/concession area - Battered Savs/Chiko Rolls/ Hot Dogs/Hot Chips/ Pop Corn/Cold Drinks and Choc Tops as well.

No longer exists - used to be Drive-Ins at Liverpool and Blacktown too.

I was a late starter to drive-ins, think I was 20yrs old going to my first at Bass Hill.

Was dating a girl from that area & she suggested on going...wow she was a wild one & made it quite a memorable experience. Barely watched half the movie.

Bit too crazy & out there for me...she mentioned the drive-in was her regular date destination...alarm bells rang...had to let her go.

More than likely she became a Souffs supporter.

It’s difficult to know how we will go after losing so much talent.

Where abouts was the drive in at Narellan and when would thatve closed down? Must've been a generation too late for me as I only remember the Blacktown and Bass Hill drive ins.

Cool glad you took it the right way Eggspert.

On a more serious note all I can say is the season is long (27 rounds). I expect the Roosters will have some short term achievable goals that they have set which can be adjusted as the season progresses.
I am fascinated to see the early Rooster games, Robbo may have to tweak the side slightly, as talent, form and skill come to the forefront.
To me this is an exciting period of the Roosters plan, it may take a little time, so I am prepared to wait, as long as we are improving team and heading in the right direction
They say "Premierships aren't won in March"

Anyway here are a dozen reasons we can beat the Broncos

                    1. We beat them both times last year for a combined score of 60 - 28
                    2. Spencer doesn't like the Broncos
                    3. We are at home
                    4. We lead the Broncos overall in head to head matches
                    5. This year Roosters will be the fittest team over 80 minutes
                    6. The Roosters are staying under the radar
                    7. The surprise element with our new players which is not known by the opposition
                    8. Tedesco and Watson (for some reason came to the front of my mind while typing the above point)
9 Robbo will have a cunning plan
                    10. Our discipline will be better (we might win the penalty count at home)
11.The Broncos will take time to adjust to Madge's ways
12 Nick Politis, Mark Bouris and Robbo know what they are doing

Moreshead Road Narellan - I think it closed in 1992? - It was called Narellan Gayline Drive-In.

The link has some info about the Drive-In - We used to go there quite a bit

No - the Valiant Station Wagon had bench seats - Our Mother and Father and Youngest Sister and Me being the smallest would sit in the front - 4 in the second passenger bench seat and some older siblings in the dog box area behind the 2nd bench seat

Same model as this one ( 1964) except it was Maroon with a White Roof - Column Shift

not convinced will will win this one. the drongos should come out strong. If we win that one we then can win against the riff. if they are jet lagged from the us.Drongos are a strong team and with hunt in the mix it adds to their strength. I hate the drongos big time but i think them and souffs wont be the whipping boys this year
