  • Beniah Ioelu 9 Watson 13

Won't happen but I'd love to see this for the start of the year

No chance mate. Guru Robbo makes sure to always play a senior/established player out of position before he promotes a young player in their natural position. Don't be silly!

He looks like a potential long term 9. I forgot to mention him out of the weekends trial.

I kinda wish we hadn't jumped in and signed Reece Robson.

Watson looked really good at 9 in the All stars game, some of his scheming around the ruck was very promising. Not sure we’ll see him get as much freedom at NRL level but he’s comfortably our best 9 as it stands.

I really like Ioelu, but he was nothing more than an impact player at NSW Cup level last year. He would typically average 30-40 minutes from the bench, at best I could see him play a similar role to begin the season in NRL but even that I think is a huge ask for a guy who doens’t have much experience at adult age levels in a position that asks so much week in week out. For some context he only made above 20 tackles in 3 games last year, at NRL level you’re required to make that in your first stint as a dummy half.

We signed the second best dummy half in the game, we’ll be ok.

I'm not such a big fan as you. My best two are Api and Harry Grant, if I thought about it I'd probably find others I'd prefer than Robs. Great defender though.

He’s not behind young Beniah though, he’s the current winning blues rake and the closest thing to Jake Friend in the comp - even arguably more talented than Nug.

Lets enjoy having them both, cause that’s what we got.

Api is just about the worst defensive dummy half in the game, no chance he’s better than Robson as an all round player.

We need Robsons defence in the middle next year. we could really use him this year. The rest of our middle forwards struggle with smaller fast guys with footwork. Probably need Victor back in the middle as well. Watson is our best option until the cheese is fit.

You get the feeling Rads is on an edge to
cover our halves. Our edges, apart from 24 Gus have been a lottery. If there’s one consistent criticism of Trent for mine, it’s his use/ effectiveness of backrowers since Boyd.

Crikey I'd play Api with measles. Has done an amazing job in an outclassed team these past couple of years. Always pick the footy smarts and attacking threat ahead of a defensive stooge, but that's just a preference.

30-40min the Watson can move to 9 while he is off. Like they were using him last year

Somehow Api is still underrated. He has had a great career. The Tigers spine of Api,Luai,Galvin and Bula will be good to watch this year

Surely they offload the stirrer this year.
