More to do with the team/players and how the team is travelling.

Certainly from below Koroisau's missed tackles count is up at the Tigers compared to the other teams he has played for due to the way the Tigers have been playing - Wests Tigers finished with back to back spoons in both those years - 2023 - 16th in Defence and 17th in Attack - 2024 - 17th in both Defence and Attack. - If you're not scoring points then your defence will always be under the pump

    Apisai Koroisau - Tackle Efficiency

    Souths (2014)- 96% - 352/14 - 14 games - 1 missed tackle per game
    Manly(2016-2019) - 91% - 2690/289 - 77 games - 3.75 missed tackles per game
    Penrith ( 2015 & 2020-2022) - 93% - 3388/258 - 79 games - 3.26 missed tackles per game
    Wests Tigers (2023-2024) - 87% - 1537/231 - 43 games - 5.38 missed tackles per game

I've always been a big fan of Apis attacking ability, I always thought he was severely underrated when he was at Souths.

But yeh there is a natural bias to favour attack over defence despite all the data telling us that one of the best defensive sides will undoubtedly win the comp every year.

It's why players like Aubusson and Friend will go underrated and doubted through their careers and their true impact not completely understood by many until they're no longer there.

It's not as if he hasn't blooded a young player before.

I kinda wish we hadn't jumped in and signed Reece Robson.
You'd trade a 20 year old kid that hasn't played 1 NRL game for Reece Robson?

Koroisau (32 years old) got dropped for Robsob (26 years old) in origin last year and people think we are better off with old man Koroisau instead of Robson for 2026 and beyond lol this place and its grass is greener on the other side will never change, if we signed Api instead of Robson the meltdown over not chasing Jake Friend 2.0 would never end
