It's all BS lip service I wouldn't believe any of these statements that players come out with. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the Wests Tigers that he wants to join and not the Panthers that's where all his mates have gone and they will have money to spend soon.
Where has any speculation talk of Spencer going come from? His name hasn’t been mentioned anywhere.

the chookpen is fuelling it for no reason.
Well the OP quotes the mole from twitter. I don't believe anything the mole says but I'd also love it to be true and Leniu does piss off at the end of the season he's a dead shit that's done nothing positive for the club.
I was also speaking directly about his BS about "I owe the club" speech, none of these PR saving statements hold any weight I don't believe he feels that way for a second. Also wasn't it reported that all the Samoan boys going to the Tigers told Leniu to join up?
There was a guy on twitter called Peter Lang, a nobody i assume, he wrote the following which is where it got legs....
As reported by @9_Moley
yesterday most pundits now know that the mystery player who wants to go back to his old club is Rooster Spencer Leniu. Of course neither club or the player have confirmed this but expect some denials soon. Unfortunately Panthers supporters who would love for this to happen I’ve got bad news, it’s not going to happen as there is simply no room under the cap for Penrith to take him back, even if they wanted to.
If true not much point keeping a player IF his heart isn't in it with us.
This x 100000.
No matter how talented or how much potential a player has, if they don't want to be here they've gotta go. No exceptions.
Negative ramifications of keeping players who won't buy in to the culture and who don't buy into the coach and playing colleagues are HUGE:
- It compromises the authority of the coach and captain
- It compromises the harmony of the playing group itself, with disullusioned players forming cliques, starting to white ant in the worst cases
- It results in poor play on the field. Not just due to issues with team harmony, but due to the player in question simply not putting in 100%
Every time we have won the comp, the playing group has been rock solid with total love for the club, and wanted to play for each other, and the coach.
I'd rather Johnny No Name from reserve grade who will give 110% & loves the coach and his playing mates fronting up ...... than a superstar who absolutely doesn't want to be there.
I can't remember if it was last year or the year before, Ivan Cleary said the Panthers have a wealth of young front rowers coming through but short on second rowers.

Agreed mate. Not saying it's the case here but in general I think one of Nick's strengths as a manager is that he doesn't get all emotional when his star salesman hands in his resignation. Rather, he says 'thanks mate... go talk to Cheryl in HR and she'll push it through the system... nup... nothing else... minimum 4 weeks notice right... how about you take 4 weeks of paid leave? Leave early and don't bother coming in tomorrow, mate'.
Whereas, others will act like farking possessive ex-boyfriends who are like 'NUP YOU CANNOT LEAVE ME!!! YOU ARE MINE AND YOU ARE PERFECT FOR ME SO THIS RELATIONSHIP CANNOT END!!!' Then they string things out for way too long, dragging their lifeless body through 'dates' and family gatherings until their ex calls the cops the get a restraining order against them and shyte hits the fan maaaajorly.
Best lesson I ever learned in life was that when a girl asks 'can we have a talk' or 'can we just be friends' ya gotta say 'appreciate the offer but no need... BYE!!! Yeah I'll leave your bag of belongings on the front doorstep and you can pick it up while I'm at work... yep k gotta go... bye!'
A TLDR timeline for those who are still playing along at home.
Tony Adams (Mole) initial report was that an off-season purchase wanted to return back to his old club.
Peter Lang (Panthers fan account) assumed it was Spencer Leniu even though Spencer Leniu obviously wasn't an off season purchase and has been at the club for more than a year now, lol.
Tony Adams (Mole) confirmed it's not Spencer Leniu who he was talking about
Has this Panthers fan account had good information or sources linked to Leniu in the past?
I'm pretty sure Spencer could get used to life in the east. I made the transition from Bankstown to Double Bay in 1993 without too much trouble, even if it was because I got engaged to a girl from Vaucluse. My kids think the outer west is Randwick- didnt get those views from me!
