All of the above plus the added bonus of hopefully getting rid of Cronk as our halves coach.

May I ask what that is all about?

Not sure why you'd actively wanna get rid of Cronk? IMO all halves are gonna respect him and have time for his opinions/expertise...

Would say DCE's of a comparable standard/stature though, and may be the better 'coach' for all we know.

A young colleague who's a Souffs fan (and played for their junior grades + knows a stack of current NRL players from playing with them) says everybody hates DCE. Dunno if there's any clout in that (I always think he comes across as a friendly, positive and likeable dude with a really cool head... my image is that he's the ultimate competitor, never gives up and doesn't look to blame others when he's down on chips).

IDK. Maybe he's an example of a guy who can play 1st grade aged 40? Looking at the Sydney Marathon, one of the frontrunners is about 40. Yes footy's a contact sport but DCE looks fit and is super consistent. But like... he's a HB, and Walker at 5/8 or him at 5/8 is probably silly unless DCE's got a plan for it to all click (and Robbo/Nick are impressed by that plan).

PS - anybody got that video of him doing the dick grab on the sidelines? That was all class!

That is a fallacy. Cronk is a consultant who rocks up to training occasionally & is available for the halves to ask questions of if they wish. He does NOT actively coach the halves.

He was outplayed by a 34 year old Chad Townsend who was signed to play reserve grade last week.

              • Sandon Smith is a halfback & is filling in at 5/8

I’ve got some reputable contacts that say different but also similar to what you say… that he’s a really good bloke and family man, very approachable but also a very strong personality in the sense that he likes talking a lot and tries to take on a lot of leadership that can rub people up the wrong way. That bit sounds a lot like Robbo to be honest lol.

                    Trust in Coach Robinson.

I don't think the club sees it that way. Walker is our half back and Sandon is seen as our long term five eighth.

                      • Be funny if we weren't looking at DCE but happy for the media to lock us in as favourites but on the quiet sign Galvin or Fogarty.

                        Unlikely ?
                        Yeah reckon so

No Mickie son. Five eighth is a snack compared to the responsibilities that come with being a halfback.
