  • The fall that we needed

Yep so this season is already looking like a bust. You can’t lose all that experience in one off season and replace it with Chad Townsend and expect miracles. We have been up near the top for over 10 years. If you offered me that in 1989 I would have died of happiness.
The good news is we usually rebuild and bounce back very quickly. No need to hammer Robbo as he won us 3 comps. I remember every one of the 27 seasons we went without one. Just enjoy the ride, support the jersey not the individual as I have always tried to do.

Yep I support the famous jersey spy - but can't tolerate floggings.

    GO ROOSTERS.

      This!
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

How long are we going to use the Robbo won us 3 comps rhetoric? Plainly put, the club hasn’t fired a significant shot for 5 years. And this year will be 6. You and I could have steered those 13,18,19 GF teams to the trophy. Take away the glitz and glamour of our marquee signings, Robinson has completely underachieved with the rosters at his disposal. For this club to move forward at all, the bloke in the centre of the coaches box needs to leave.

The “ponga to roosters” talk for 2027 is starting to resurface from Buzz.

In your dreams you would - Tell 'im 'e's dreamin'

Put your hat in the ring to coach then - come on you said you could steer them to premierships - easy peasy like in 2013/118/19

Are you aware of the injury toll or that the Roosters haven't been able to field a best 17 since 2019.

Get real Penrith have been too goof these last 4 years for anyone - should have been 5 if not for stage fright in 2020.

Gees the Roosters have some feather duster fickle so called "fans"

We are amongst the luckiest fans over the past 10 years to see such a great team win comps and club championships so I’m grateful. But with so much experience gone it’s going to take a few years to rebuild. Only I’m concerned about poor recruitment and poor discipline.

Robbo assembled that 2013 squad in his first year of coaching. To say anyone could have steered those GF teams to winning the comp is wrong. He loves the club and when he speaks about the history and what it means to be a rooster, well good luck finding someone else like that.

He should be involved in the club in some capacity just not as the head coach.

The roster was there before Robbo. We made the 2010 grand final with a young squad. Maloney signed to replace Carney whilst Brian Smith was still coach, we had been trying to sign SBW for years, we got lucky with Jennings.

Some of us called them the Honeymoon Roosters because Sticky won in first year, Brian Smith took them from wooden spooners to a grand final in the first year, and Freddy took them to top 4 first year. Why are you so sure another coach could not have won with us in 2013?

I would say the main differentiating characteristic with Robbo is he knows how to appease the princesses in the team so that they tolerate him beyond the honeymoon period.

After we win a comp they change the rules, seemingly to thwart us.
After our 2019 win they changed the whole game!
Out went the 2 referees system, back to one ref.
(Why was the 2 referees system originally introduced, yes exactly!).
                      6 agains instead of penalties...etc.
Panthers adapted best to the new reffing system, and the refs seem to like their style of play best.
Panthers win *all* their home games and nearly all their games.

I don't know how the club's recruitment works; whether Robbo has a big say or not. Recruitment and development seem to have dropped away over the last 5 years. We have kept good players too long without having replacements ready to take their place. Because our top side had been good for a long time, the next guys coming through never developed or left so now our next batch while very good in lower grades are probably not ready for NRL. We haven't developed a good standby hooker, instead we rely on Watson or Docker Clay who are better at 14. Wong seemed better at end of 2023 than now. Whyte is OK for first grade but needs improvement. Haven't seen enough from Vaa brothers. McCathie, Foketi and Losalu are the next best middles. I haven't seen much of Roberts so don't know. We have multiple lower grade halves but none seem ready for NRL. Not sure if King could handle NRL if Teddy was out for a long time. The rest of the outside backs have poor defence.

The surrender in last years prelim, and the first half last Sunday is really concerning.

I am staying positive for next Thursday night.
