This is going to be a very interesting game.

What a bench !! Are we the new West Tigers.

Let's rock n roll Chooks. Fingers crossed.

The coach is very confident - no excuses apparently - and Teddy loves to say anyone and everyone has had a great off season.

That was my immediate thought too mate. You want your opposition looking at our sheet and having some fear/concern/plans to deal with the Interchange bench. Ours might put them to sleep.

We've gone a solid 7-8 years without a legit rebuild (if not more) and we've been very very competitive or even won the comp in that time.

I am prepared to be content with a period of less than ideal performances this year. There will be the odd flogging too when we are down on troops through injury, as depth is poor.

You can't lose Keary, JWH, Manu, Sualli, and May without it having a big impact. And there has simply been nothing much on the market worth chasing, which is why we've kept our powder dry.

I highly suspect, and there is a lot of smoke here, that the longer term plan is to acquire Staggs (2026) a very good prop (2026), and grab Ponga early before end of Knights contract (2027),

Reece Robson is coming next year too, a very very good hooker.

Walker is still potentially the best halfback in the comp when he matures imo.

I think at least 2 - 3 of our younger blokes are really going to do well for themselves too, likely Steep and Toia, so I am content for 2025 to be a sketchy season.

Let's get behind the boys. No whinging unless its genuinelly constructive.

          Big changes
2 debuts off the bench, and the other 2 with a couple of nrl games
hard when you loose 6 from last year
another 6 unavailable for round 1 who would be in the 17 and another 4 other wider members not available
12 out of our top 12 last year not here

It's 2016 all over again we will have a tough year and come out of it for another run next year

Agree on parts of this and hoping for a couple of good signings for 2026

I think our 2021 squad was premiership worth but unfortunately injuries crueled that chance
also 2024 we had a gun 17 and 22 man squad and most teams would have been jealous of what was put together
Its just the 2023 attack or lack of and defence issues coupled with no grit to go against riff and storm that struggle make it hard to take

Tomorrow night would have been Butch’s 150th. It’s a shame he won’t get to celebrate that milestone at home.

Me as well, side benefit of having these young blokes develop their position in the side together.

I'm excited about tonight's game and have my fingers crossed for an ambush. Doesn't have to be a winning ambush but if we were simply competitive I'd be very happy with that.

If the current Roosters management wanted to pull a 2013 and instantly go into contention to win a comp then they should take either Cobbo or the returning Joey Manu for 2026, Dylan Brown and whoever the best off contract prop for 2026 season is. I'd also take an experienced prop for the bench due to the amount of youth we have there right now and sign a few good depth players that are cheap but effective enough. Crazy thing is with 4-5 million odd spare we could easily afford all these players and have money left over to replace Tedesco in 2027 also.

Just in comparison, our bench last year was:

                        Sandon Smith
                        Whyte
                        N.Butch
                        May

What's the story with Nat Butcher, does anyone know? I was really looking forward to watching him this year and I've always wanted to see him get a decent crack at lock. The word is staph infection but from what I understand that can pose a wide variety of recovery times.

Staph infection is really serious. A few years ago my wife got a severe form it and was in hospital for a few months.
