Thought I’d try a new segment leading into the 2025 season, mainly cause ‘punt’ rhymes with my name, but also for all the degenerates out there who fancy a flutter from time to time.

What I suggest is put up a wager that you think has a chance, probably suits roughies rather than short priced, as there is no money being exchanged unless you think it’s a decent chance.

I’m going wide with my first pick:
Parra to beat Melbourne - $6+ head to head

Reason: Parra looked fit in their trials, Storm looked mediocre. Parra have a good record in Melbourne but going against the long unbeaten round 1 record for Bellamy coached Storm outfits.

Anyway, nuffin to lose, have a crack

I tried putting that bet into my account to see what the odds are, it wouldn't let me include Lindsay as last tryer, but for the other 3 legs the price was $2501 with an odds boost taking it to 3001. So I had $10 on. Lindsay was $91 to be last tryscorer so if they allowed it that would have taken the price to $225090
