But he wasn’t very philosophical, in my opinion he spoke very technically on the game, more so than usual. He said their issue was footy smarts.

Spoke about 4th tackle plays being an issue in the first half. Counting numbers of short sides in the 2nd half caused issues as did last tackle chaos (adhoc play). Spoke about defensive connection, making good decisions when rushing out to shut down the first play but then not to reconnecting when the Broncos moved to plan b or c, leaving holes, creating overlaps etc.

Then spoke about the struggles for new players in the NRL having to make decision under fatigue and high intensity periods which is hard to replicate elsewhere.

Spoke technically on Rob Toia’s aggressive defence, saying he made good decisions to rush up and then not back track like a lot of other centres do.

I don’t think you’ll see another coach talk as technically about their game in Round 1 as he did tonight so I don’t understand the buzz words or phrases claim.

I think he’s just clearly relishing the challenge of building a team almost from scratch again, after years of high expectations and injuries I’m sure it must be freeing to be able to build from the ground up again. Don’t think I’ve seen him so upbeat in a while and he seems to have lost a bit of weight too.

When you say he dodged hard questions, which questions did you think he dodged?

Like stated above, it was his whole demeanour which was soul crushing as a fan (for me anyway). Very little emotion/care about what was served up. You could tell Teddy was devastated. The way Robbo spoke it was as if it was an acceptable level of performance. I understand we had a lot of players out, but alot of that was self inflicted by either lack of or poor recruiting decisions which Robbos fingerprints would be all over. Like I said, he is done in my eyes. He has put himself in this position. Melbourne & Penrith don't rebuild, why are we? Not to mention Fitzy, who was his understudy, has been absolutely killing it in recruitment and retention, whilst Robbo has completely lost his touch.

As for the rebuilding a team from scratch. I could maybe cop it if he actually delivered when he had one of the best rosters in the comp during the last 5 years, but imo he has consistently underperformed with the roster at his disposal since 2019.

Every team has to rebuild eventually. Melbourne underwent theirs a few years back when they lost Cronk, Slater and Smith in a period of 2 years or whatever it was. Bellamy and the Storm team recruited well though and had Grant, Hughes and Papenhuyzen ready to go BEFORE those players were gone and now a few years later all three are rep players or potential rep players that every club wants to sign.

The difference between us and Melbourne in particular is that Melbourne is recruiting well, is developing these players well and then they're immediately ready when called upon. With us we've put our faith in Sandon Smith who currently isn't anything past NSW Cup/Super League standard, we have no young potential star hooker, no young future star props and in a couple seasons when Tedesco is done we don't have anyone to replace him either. It also seems that instead of slowly blooding these young players into first grade they're just being thrown in there hoping they can do a job.

I have no idea why Robbo and the Roosters recruitment were seemingly so opposed to signing 2-3 good depth players who have first grade experience. Even an average forward with a hundred NRL games would've been a huge breath of fresh air last night.

I’m not sure that Connor is the answer at 9. His service was average and option selection poor. I’d prefer a specialist to bring our forwards onto the ball. Shift Connor to lock to cover Radley and maybe Steep on a edge. But then they’ll get ripped apart. Oh well, we’re stuffed this season.

Being rather rude and insulting to me when caught out for your feather duster support does not hide that fact that you admitted on your post betting on the Roosters to miss the 8 and to lose most games which is a fact.

Very much doubt you would have seen Sandon or other youngsters play in Junior reps and beyond

Ignore the haters man. I'm growing less and less patience for engaging with such people as my years go by.

I love the club and back it. A plain English hearing of Robbo's presser gave various technical and strategic insights that literally nobody on here coulda provided. As a fan I appreciate the insights.
