I reckon Souffs would offer him $600k-$750k. A club that's desperate for a 9 may offer more. Currently on $850k a year.
If he is getting offered more than $600K I'd be surprised, but you're worth what clubs are willing to pay so good luck to him.

The way he talked about Penrith in his latest podcast with Jimmy Graham makes me wonder if he goes there on unders to play a middle role. He has made comments previously about going to quality club and not going to be heavily influenced by money. Time will tell, not sure if his fitness would be up to Ivan's standards but if he only uses him for 20-35mins it could be a master-stroke.

What did he say on the podcast re: the Riff? I can't be bothered to actually go and listen to it myself haha.

I can see why they signed him but the team couldn’t consistently generate the ruck speed that suits his style of playmaking.

In his latest podcast he gave zero response when questioned about our team this week. Made me think he’s been told to zip it regarding our team preparation ongoing. I could also see him going this season. Time will tell

Just full of praise, nothing to specific - he just seemed in awe of them and stated how a team with Cleary, Yeo & Edwards will also be in contention for comp. I also think his preference is to remain is to remain in Sydney and he wants to be in competitive team. No other insight so pure speculation from me.

I think he has played his last game for us - to be fair his responses about the Roosters have been really classy when asked.
Unfortunately, he was never the right fit for "Roosters footy" and i don't see that style changing anytime soon

People too harsh on cheese, goes as hard as anyone but we wanted something from him that’s not his natural game. Used right, he’s a point of difference and a major asset

Shame as the cheese is better then what he has showed with us
                  just hasn’t worked out
injuries at the wrong times certainly didn’t help his cause

Could he take Sandon with him?
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

Please do. I've heard a lot of great things about Sandon Smith on the forum but he's played 31 games for us and never has been anything past solid in my opinion. We need a world class half to complete our spine and help us be a competitive football side again.

                        100% he'll be a weapon at Souths.

Now we get to look forward to him toying with our appalling roster for the next 3 or so years.

Wayne will do better then robbo at getting the best out of the cheese

                            At hooker?
Do you think Smith will demand he plays hooker?

No I think Smith's value wouldve dropped off so much that he'd take a spot in his usual 14 role. Although interesting if he goes to Souffs because they are in need of a hooker, not an undersized speedy lock. They have the best one in the game already.

I'm not so sure? Where would he fit in? They need a hooker but I think he's proven he's not a very good one. Murray has the lock spot covered.
