We just win a game, in which Perrett starred...so we punt him to the Dogs.
The Dogs want him!
The Dogs want him!
The Dogs want him!
WHY don't we?

Perrett was a great club man during trouble times, however if we ever hope to become a premiership force again we have to stop picking players because they are good guys like Mini/Anasta/Perrett/Maubs and start picking players on form/talent, Perrett doesn't have the skill requirements of a modern day winger, they need to be good under the high ball and good finishers unfortunately he was neither.
of more concern is what is going on behind the scenes at the Roosters is there really a fracture between the playing group and coaching staff, it certainly looks like the players a still playing for each other but it is unknown how they really feel about Smith&Son.
what got so bad that Perrett wanted out immediately really needs to be addressed by the club.

Honestly I dont think he has a huge future at our club.
He is a hard worker and grinds out the metres every game. But that is the role of a front rower, not a winger. He doesnt have the spark or try scoring ability we need on the wing.
But saying that, he has been a great player for us in the past. A very decent person and I wish him all the best. It would have been nice to send him off in a better way, not halfway through the season.

So the first thing I would've done then was seek a contract elsewhere, starting immediately if need be.

I wouldn't group Maubs in with the others. He is still a quality player. He might have quiet ones in attack every now and then, but he still got through 31 tackles with minimal fuss. Once SKD is back, Maubs is what makes the right side of the attack so incisive. Pearce drifts across, the defenders tend to slide toward the menacing SKD, and then he slips a short ball to Maubs who breaks the line and streaks away. With both back, our right hand attack will be back to its very best again. Also remember, we are now playing with no natural right centres (both Leilua and Moga are accustomed to the left) and no natural left wingers (both Perrett and Moga are natural right wingers). With SKD returning soon, and Perrett's pending departure, we can potentially have Maubs, SKD and Henry/RTS (both are very talented) out on the right edge wreaking havoc, and Guerra, Leilua and Moga/Tagive (both deserve a few more shots IMO) on the other side too.
Losing Perrett is not the worst thing to happen, especially if it means the $$$ goes towards re-signing Pearce and Cordner, both of whom are off-contract next year. I would still prefer keeping Aubusson, and I would keep ONE of Nuuausala and Taka. Both are ridiculously skillful forwards, Nuuausala has a more explosive running game than Taka, definitely. However, Taka isn't prone to having the SHOCKERS that FPN does.
1. Minichiello (retiring after next year)
2. Henry/RTS (off contract next year, keep one)
3. Kenny-Dowall (2015)
4. Leilua (2014)
5. Moga (2014)
6. Maloney (2015)
7. Pearce (off contract next year, keep)
8. Kennedy (2014)
9. Friend (2015)
10. Hargreaves (2015)
11. Guerra (2015)
12. Aubusson (off contract next year, keep)
13. Cordner (off contract next year, keep)
14. Arona (2014)
15. Nuuausala/Takairangi (off contract next year, keep one)
16. Tasi (2014 [?])
17. Masoe (2015)
18. Evans (2014)
19. Tagive (off contract next year)

Mack, the problem with Anasta on the left and Maubs on the right is they stiffle the attack they have such poor passing games, this is why BJ/SKD have been fairly ineffective this season, Maloney will make a massive difference to our attack next season, we might actually get some early ball to our strike weapons out wide.

I have a feeling Politis may have done a deal with the dogs to let SBW play with the Roosters this year. I also heard that we have signed one of Canterburys very good youngsters, maybe we are also getting him early? He is a centre I believe. Could also be Jennings? Who knows what is going on. One thing I know for sure, Roosters wouldn't release him mid-season without benefitting in some way or another.

Carney's elite.
Perret's a tradesman.
Good luck to him. But I won't be losing any sleep about it, even if he wins a comp with them.

Never been a great fan of Sammy P He shoulld have been kept for this season that is unless SKD is to return very soon or we are signing another outside back before June 3. If not this is a bewildering decisionWhen you trust your television

Roosters Perret' set for Dog switch
Sydney Roosters winger Sam Perrett is poised to make a stunning mid-season switch to Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs.
Sunday’s 42-28 win over the Wests Tigers at Leichhardt Oval may be the Kiwi international’s last match in the red, white and blue.
The 27-year-old stunned the Roosters when he asked for an immediate release so he can take up a three-year deal at Belmore.
Perrett is off-contract at the end of the season but the Roosters are reluctant to release him early.
It is understood Roosters players and the coaching staff have been unaware of the move until recently.
