  • It seems confusion reigns supreme I was of the belief Canterbury wanted him now or it was no deal

I actually find it hard to believe Perrett would want to walk out like this He does not strike meas that type of person

    • I believe it's not really Sam the Dog's are after but LLoyd, Sams younger brother LLoyd ,who is considered by many to be one of the hottest young front rowers in the country. The Roosters agreed to let Sam go to Belmore, then discovered they wanted LLoyd and Sam as a package deal so we reneged on our offer, we see a lot of promise in the young prop and wont let him go. We got both Hargreaves and Tasi from Manly to Haslers chagrin, I believe is looking to get both LLoyd and Tasi to the Dogs.

      • i'm under the impression Llyod is off contract at the end of this year anyway, not much point in continuing his development if he is not going to be here, hell we haven't even been using him in NYC anyway after SG Ball finished.

the club have known for quite a while that Sam and Llyod were being shopped as a pair, we made the decision that we didn't want Sam which is fair enough so they sought out a deal elsewhere where the Bullscum stepped in.

without question Llyod was the one the Dogs were after and Sam was an after thought once their injury crisis hit and Lett walked out on his contract.

the real problem is did we ever say to Sam he could leave mid-season if he found a deal elsewhere or did the Bullscum overstep the mark when they signed him for 2013 and encouraged him to break his contract for 2012.

we should be very worried about losing Tasi to the dogs in 2014 he is Haslers number 1 target now and there ever expanding salary cap seems to have room for whoever they want.

I thought about that too but then it doesn't make sense to offer Sam a 3 year deal to get Lloyd? And I've heard widely conflicting opinion on Lloyd. Some say he's a gun others a dud. I know I'd be pissed off if the Roosters offered Sam 3 years to get a potentially good younger brother. Remember the Paea's? Massive duds except Lopini who was average.

          Chook.

            • When it all came out i was under the impression that the Roosters were pushing him out the door. Upon realising that it was infact Perrett who wants to leave by his own accord i say....ta ta!

Ship him to the reggies for the rest of the year and i've changed my mind about the final round 'farewell' too....farrk him.

P.S Was talking to a dogs supporter at work today and he was cheering about the signing and couldn't understand why i was also happy about it.
He says to me "He's so hard to tackle", to which i replied "He only gets the ball over the stripe about once a year so he couldn't be too hard to tackle ffs!"

                • I'm not going to criticise a great clubman for looking after his future security. Sam has done nothing wrong in my eyes. He was told to look elsewhere and he has. I'm sure the situation is not how he wanted his time at the Chooks to end, but them's the breaks.

Sometimes you win out in midseason transfers, sometimes you lose - remember we got Anthony Mitchell last year under the same circumstances. And I don't recall anyone whinging that it was wrong then.

I think people are more concerned with doing the Dogs a favour than actually letting them go NC.

Like i said yesterday, I have a great amount of respect for Sam, for his service's and contributions to the club and would be happy to let the bloke go if it wasn't for the fact that the greasy dogs WANT him.

Farrk doing Des or Greenburg little favours when they would rape and pillage our side without even blinking if they had the chance.

I for one am happy that we're finally starting to grow a pair and can forget all the sentimental shit whilst we're in negotiations with club 'favourites'.

PS Personally I have always thought We wont win a GF with him in 1st grade Along with Anasta in the 6

Unless you know what has happened first hand I would suggest giving Perrett the benefit of the doubt. He deserves it. The Roosters may well have said to Sam he can go, but then changed their mind due to injuries and form, with Sam now looking like the bad guy.
