or exciting to see the progression of some young blokes.

For all those saying it’s a rebuilding year so robbo will be given leeway in 2025…. Let’s see how that holds up when we are 2-10 and stone motherless midway through the season

There are no excuses when it comes to fitness!

The Broncos could've played another 40 minutes.
100%. If we dish up the same impotent rubbish for the entire season even Uncle Nick will know it’s time to move on.

No coach with his success would dish up last nights diabolical performance unless they've checked out. It made me sick to my stomach to watch Maguire grin with pleasure as his team put 50 on us. FFS!

I'd be very surprised if he makes it through to the end of the season.
Is he "over it"? As in given up and just biding his time and not making an effort?

Ridiculous and insulting Bates. Question the results and the methods if you want, but I'm pretty sure if he had checked out after 12 seasons he wouldn't be sitting around faking it. At least give our greatest ever coach that assumption, for god's sake. Instead of just another thread.

We are in for a long season, most likely not much joy, however I’m keen to see how our young crop of players develop over the course of the year, how good are our young centre’s potential there to be world class, both of them.

What is your take on Sandon Smith? I believe this kid should just tuck the ball under and run and run often.

Prop- Lindsay just doesn’t seem to have much impact taking the ball up, defence is great and his work off the ball is second to none if Victor and Butcher were playing we don’t concede as much, No Leniu didn’t help Whyte was completely dominated,
Chrichton busted his ass only forward to crack 100 meters from 15 runs he almost ran the ball more then Lindsay Whyte and Wong combined, the kids on the bench have nothing to be ashamed of

Wong- seems down on confidence was fantastic at the back end of 23 season was barely sighted.
When you support a team you support them through thick and thin which is the point I always make - Sad that in the instant access and success world that this has been overlooked - I don't think the players gave up vs Bronco's and were just outgunned on the night by a team that most pundits think are a real premiership chance in 2025.

Up to 8 players missing and at least 5 of them would have been in the 17 in round 1.

You need to back your pathways though in developing players to NRL standard as there would be no point in having them otherwise - just go out and buy a comp which some on here are advocating for.

Easy to be a critic sitting at home or in the grandstand though. walk in someone else's shoes comes to mind.

I view Sandon as a 7 - An organising like half - Sandon at 7 and Sam Walker at 6. - Andrew Johns said Sandon had a real crack vs Broncos as I did too - he would know better than any of us.

Lindsay is seemingly always confronted by three defenders when he takes the hit ups.

That was a stat I posted on another thread - The Roosters forwards All Runs and Running Metres - Angus was the only one over 100 metres - Defence workload may have been a factor? - Wong made 41 tackles for instance but only 3 runs for 30 metres

Certainly need more runs and running metres from the forwards to get on the front front in sets - need to be better at set completions too and other basics - less errors / less penalties and set restarts conceded.

The Defence of course needs to improve which Coach Robinson alluded too - the effort on effort on effort and decision making and the last tackle chaos i.e when players rushed out the line on the last tackle on Reynolds kicks.

It's a steep learning curve for individual players new or relatively new to NRL and as a team as a whole in getting the game structures right - the worst thing would be if fans lost faith in them as I am sure Coaching Robinson and Staff won't.

Getting through the adversity will only make these players better players down the track as long as their confidence as a player and in their own ability is not affected by the scoreline as the season progresses.

Never knew that Bates even checked in - probably blames Coach Robinson for when they burnt the Chicken Kyiv's

Time for a one stop shop thread where people can rant and vent to their hearts content instead of this sea of the same type of threads being started about Coaching Staff and Players each day /each week/after each game.

Matter a fact I will start one now
