I'm specifically speaking about the language that was used. There is nothing to grasp, you're just trying to divert the conversation because even you know there's nothing pretentious about the term footy smarts.
Stay angry at nothing.

Story in today’s Daily Telegraph. DY is oblivious to his defensive issues and mentioned to Nathan Cleary and co to bring it on this Friday night as he and Robert Toia are ready for anything they dish up . So no issues from him and the Coach I would say.

"The Smarts" are real, not a buzzword. You see the smarts in Harry Grant and the rest of the Storm players, in DCE, Cleary and most of the "Riff, The Hutch, Cody, Scheissenhausen and Walker to some extent. It's about correct decision making and anticipation. It's being 100% aware for 8o minutes. With video and training the Smarts can be acquired to a large degree and that is what Robbo does year on year.
I'm surprised that some meathead hasn't called it "woke".

I didn't have any issue with the phrase footy smarts, and I didn't find his press conference pretentious either (another word that you've introduced into the convo btw). I took issue with him saying he was proud of the effort and his perceived lack of disappointment which was directly juxtaposed by Teddy sitting next to him looking like his dog had died.
I am not angry, your assumptions are running wild. I take it you are a massive Robinson fan and that's fine, I appreciate your discussion points without accusing me of being fairweather or challenging me to do a better job coaching, which are the common tired tropes you see on here.

Smiths back this week , and Mark N is a better player . Young missed 5 tackles and had 5 tries down his side on Thursday . I’d say his got one more week or he’ll be taking his ego and arrogance to Reggie’s .

I'm no league techie so dunno what they mean when they say '2 man' and '3 man' and shyte. However the gist I got from Pearce is that you're supposed to apply pressure from the inside to the outside. However, Young's constantly doing it from the outside to the in.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I took this to mean that he's constantly rushing in early. Not sure how you fix this in a guy as Toia and Mark N seem to have picked it up a lot more easily. Hopefully he can learn it soon as it seems like a pretty fundamental skill that he's taking a bit longer than other first graders to pick-up.

Have to remember spent all his career in England until 2021 so wouldn't have had the same level of coaching through the juniors
Speaking of the Youngs, his brother Alex has been released and is going back to being a lawyer - Turns out not even the Glebe Dirty Reds wanted him
