Molo - Not an ideal situation but probably the only NRL ready prop available to us right now. At 112 KG he adds much needed size and having played Origin semi recently (2021) I guess they'd be hoping they can bring him in and get him back to the form that got him into Origin all those years ago. I don't love it but I understand the signing here if it goes ahead.

Warea-Hargreaves - Over in Super League this year he's only played 1 game where he's made over 100 metres and most games he's averaging 5-6 metres a carry but despite this I think we're actually desperate enough that we should try and take him. Our current forward rotation is the shits but Collins, Leniu, JWH and Molo doesn't seem as bad as we've got right now. Not saying it's a forward rotation that'll win us a comp but might be one that will keep us away from the spoon...

Add it to the list of dumb decisions. Our recruiting over the last 5-6 has been very ordinary & in his just adds to it. Why let May go & now chase this cry baby, spooky spud. If we kept May we also could have gotten his brother to add to our outside backs. Desperation like I haven’t seen for a long time & it won’t drive us to a contender, heck not even to a top 8 contender.

I don’t normally like throwing money at kids but if that spud Brown is worth $1.3 I’d throw $1.2 at Galvin. Sandon is a super league player & but he club needs to be honest about that & move on at the end of the year. Walker & Galvin are a fair upgrade with 10 years plus infront of them.

Signing Molo would make a joke of letting May go. In the case of the halves, Rodwell will probably be stuck behind Sam as they are both really 7s. Galvin is more a 6 but I dont know if we would go for him. They obviously rate Elliot and Foley as 6s and they still have to find a place for Savala

With the total screw up with May and Sitili and now going desperate...HTF can you have faith in the recruitment and retention at Easts ???

              So let me get this straight;

We let players like May (who we literally re-signed 2-3 months ago) and Sitili go, not to mention JWH, and declare that we are confident with the side we have. Then, after one game we decide actually no, we aren’t confident and now we are forced to get Molo who hasn’t been at his peak for years, and also apparently we are trying to get JWH again, who we literally just parted ways with?

This begs the question: What then was the point in letting these three players go in the first place, if we weren’t confident with our squad without them? If we weren’t confident in the direction we were going in?

Granted, we have a few injuries which are out of our control, but wouldn’t you take that into account when planing for them new year? Especially since in recent history we have had an incredible amount of injuries?

It’s quite laughable, and frankly embarrassing as a supporter. Molo may end up being a cheap stopgap, but it just sort of looks like we haven’t a clue what we are doing.

I think this is the issue though our recruitment and retention doesn’t know what’s going on
                it’s a complete shambles
and due to our own fault we need to look elsewhere as we are short front rowers
our top 30 has 7 halves - 4 with no first grade experience and letting May go gave us only 3 nrl quality front rowers
along with injuries to Vaa bros we are now short so we could do with anyone at least for 2025 as a stop gap option

this is what fans were trying to say last year when May was let go we didn’t go out and replace him with anyone

I can see us signing JWH and then having him suspended for 40-50% of the season.

To me it’s panic buying, he is one of my favourite players ever to play for the club but in recent years we didn’t get value out of him with the amount of penalties he gave away or time spent on the sidelines.

We can’t live in the past, it’s time to sign the next generation of players who will be around 5-10 years. Signing old workhorses at the end of their career just delays us getting back to a premiership force.

I can’t understand why we are missing out on the big names, whoever Nick wanted we got but now it seems that’s not the case

I think the Va boys injuries may have forced our hand in looking for short term fixes

They'll use the excuse of May having attitude problems to justify it I guess.

It's JWH leadership that we need.

The bar automatically lifts if he's in the team and those around him are more accountable.

It would be a strange excuse, since Molo seems to have known attitude problems, within clubland, and outside of it.

                              Hope it's all true.
We'll get flogged by the Panthers, last time we beat them was in 2019.

We need some big forwards, and in a hurry.
That West's prop they sacked could be available.

The Academy is a great thing to have.
Looks like now, unless you can develop your own halves/players...you have to sign stars/potential stars to $13m 10yr contracts to get them
