I'll give preference to the 2009 side purely for Shackleton's Fui Fui impressions and the meme potential of the Greek God. Memorable duds!

Maybe not walk but he could at least slow down a bit and not take it so serious...

There have been so many times over the last 5 years where Martin, Cleary, even Edwards last year have been out injured. Add on top all the players they've lost and they just plug and play the next man in.

I think it has to do with 2 things. 1 - their insane junior nursery where they can bring in NRL ready talent on the regular and 2. Their coach, as much as I hate to admit it, has just taken them to another level where the system is so hard to play against in this era of footy. Mistake free, grinding, lightning fast play the balls and quick attacking shifts. Do it better than anyone by a country mile.

If Martin left tomorrow they'd turn Mavrik Geyer into a world beater. I think the only 3 that are absolutely pivotal to it all are the two Clearys and Isiah Yeo.

I think the debate ends when it comes to who the superior coach is when you look at poor old Momo. Cleary had him firing as a defensive robot in the centres when they won the comp, then we bought him and he looked like he'd never played rugby league before.
I actually think Momo was a right centre forced to play on the left because Manu was usually fit. But you are right about systems. We were like that up to 2020.

Yeah but Cleary and Bellamy are a few notches above Robbo.

Was always Momo would come good but not to be.

Robbo mentioned Hugo Savala has trained in the off-season in many positions from wing to prop forward, which gives him the capacity to play on the bench..

Interesting to see how he goes.

Somehow people overlook the fact that 11 of the Top 30 squad players are out - at least 7 would be in the 17 this week if available - Maybe only 1 returning in round 3 - Spencer Lenui ?

Take 7 out of the top 17 of any side and they will struggle

                          TBC - Return date unknown
                          1. De La Salle Va'a - TBC
                          2. Xavier Va'a - TBC
                          3. Spencer Leniu - Round 3
                          4. Victor Radley - Round 3?
                          5. Lindsay Collins - Round 3?
                          6. Sam Walker - TBC

Penrith would still put 40 on them if those 11 players were fit and available

The side to face the Penrith Panthers at 8pm this Friday at CommBank Stadium has been trimmed 24 hours ahead of kick-off.

Lindsay Collins comes out of the Squad with Taylor Losalu replacing him at prop.

Hugo Savala takes up a spot on the bench and is set to make his Roosters debut. Zach Docker-Clay, Blake Steep, and Makahesi Makatoa join him on the interchange.

                                Ethan Roberts is 18th man.

Billy Smith and Max McCathie come out of the side.

The final teamlist will be released one hour before kick-off, at 7pm.
