Since their dynasty commenced they have lost players like:
Luai
JFH
Crichton
Kikau
Lenui
Api
Burton
Capewell
Turuva
.Through in others like Staines, Naden, Cogger etc
And looking at their current team, apart from Cleary, no one one screams elite.
So what's the difference? It can only be coaching, preparation ,development and roster management.
Bellamy does the same at Melbourne. Otherwise 'average' players perform consistently at the elite level. Both clubs systems and coaching is just superior to ours. Stating the bleedin obvious I guess.
To say Yeo, Leota, Edwards, To’o & Martin aren’t elite is insane. They’re all in the top few percent of their respective positions.

There have been so many times over the last 5 years where Martin, Cleary, even Edwards last year have been out injured. Add on top all the players they've lost and they just plug and play the next man in.
I think it has to do with 2 things. 1 - their insane junior nursery where they can bring in NRL ready talent on the regular and 2. Their coach, as much as I hate to admit it, has just taken them to another level where the system is so hard to play against in this era of footy. Mistake free, grinding, lightning fast play the balls and quick attacking shifts. Do it better than anyone by a country mile.
If Martin left tomorrow they'd turn Mavrik Geyer into a world beater. I think the only 3 that are absolutely pivotal to it all are the two Clearys and Isiah Yeo.
I think the debate ends when it comes to who the superior coach is when you look at poor old Momo. Cleary had him firing as a defensive robot in the centres when they won the comp, then we bought him and he looked like he'd never played rugby league before.

This won't be fun viewing. I guess only positive is the experience that some of these young blokes will get, especially the forwards. Give them a glimpse on what is required to be an elite player.
