Worst bench we've put out in the last 25 years? Stats gurus. Help me out.

This won't be fun viewing. I guess only positive is the experience that some of these young blokes will get, especially the forwards. Give them a glimpse on what is required to be an elite player.

Since their dynasty commenced they have lost players like:
            Luai
            JFH
            Crichton
            Kikau
            Lenui
            Api
            Burton
            Capewell
            Turuva
.Through in others like Staines, Naden, Cogger etc

And looking at their current team, apart from Cleary, no one one screams elite.

So what's the difference? It can only be coaching, preparation ,development and roster management.

Bellamy does the same at Melbourne. Otherwise 'average' players perform consistently at the elite level. Both clubs systems and coaching is just superior to ours. Stating the bleedin obvious I guess.
Part of the problem is opposition fans don’t value the players properly.

To say Yeo, Leota, Edwards, To’o & Martin aren’t elite is insane. They’re all in the top few percent of their respective positions.

My point is that they have grown into that status under the Panthers coaching and systems. Would they have done similar under the Robbo regime of year 2020 onwards? I doubt it.

I actually think the system is so good, those players listed actually help the argument that it's the system and coaching style that makes them what they are.

There have been so many times over the last 5 years where Martin, Cleary, even Edwards last year have been out injured. Add on top all the players they've lost and they just plug and play the next man in.

I think it has to do with 2 things. 1 - their insane junior nursery where they can bring in NRL ready talent on the regular and 2. Their coach, as much as I hate to admit it, has just taken them to another level where the system is so hard to play against in this era of footy. Mistake free, grinding, lightning fast play the balls and quick attacking shifts. Do it better than anyone by a country mile.

If Martin left tomorrow they'd turn Mavrik Geyer into a world beater. I think the only 3 that are absolutely pivotal to it all are the two Clearys and Isiah Yeo.

I think the debate ends when it comes to who the superior coach is when you look at poor old Momo. Cleary had him firing as a defensive robot in the centres when they won the comp, then we bought him and he looked like he'd never played rugby league before.

                            Shane Shackleton
                            Stanley Waqa
                            Rohan Ahern

They'll miss Luai and JFH big time. Both played a huge part in their run of success.

                              Broncos vs Storm GF.

Ivan Cleary is the modern games GOAT. You're kidding yourself if you think Bennett, Bellamy or Robbo come close.

                                Ivan Cleary is a magician!
