The Roosters horror start to the season has the potential to get even worse. Forward leader Lindsay Collins is OUT tomorrow, he did cop a knock last week so it may be related to that. Hugo Savala comes in for his NRL debut.
LOL! As much as I am critical of the coaching and some of the performances we do have some shocking luck.
Collins hasn't been great but taking his experience out of this already decimated 17, we are absolutely rooted.
My initial thought was this guy is taking the Club for a ride, just doesn’t seem right to me given the circumstances..
I'm on the fence with it. He comes across very humble and respectful as well as quite insightful. But on the other side, it's frustrating hearing him give wraps to Brisbane and other clubs after he's just been belted and played like shit.
To his defence, he's been doing it a while. He did it at the Warriors and Cowboys aswell. We knew what we were getting when we signed him. (A YouTuber who masquerades as a washed up first grade halfback).

Yes that’s the part that got me,didn’t seem right..
But I kind of agree,we knew what we were getting with him.
Roosters forward Lindsay Collins has been ruled out of Friday night’s clash against the Panthers due to illness.
Hugo Savala comes into the bench for his NRL debut.
The Coogee Wombats junior came through the grades as a half but won’t play that role against the defending premiers, with the 194cm giant to play anywhere he’s needed after he scored a try and kicked two goals in NSW Cup last week.
“Hugo is a local boy who grew up in the area and has been a Roosters supporter since he was born,” coach Trent Robinson said.
“He’s come through as a half and I’ve loved training him. He’s brought so much energy to the team. I’ve moved him around a bit in the pre-season – and I know he plays in the halves – but he’s gone from wing to front row in all of our training sessions which has given him the capacity to play on the bench.
I hope he becomes a 10 year + player with the club

Oh ok, I wasn't aware he had been doing it for a while.
A thought occurred to me, a funny story actually, from Jacks days as a Coach. He relayed this one himself, so it must have a grain of truth to it.
One of his young players missed a training session, and he told Jack the reason was his sister had just had a baby. Jacks response was "Well I don't know if he helped with the delivery or not, but I gave him the rest of the year off to look after it"..
I would love to transplant Jack at his peak in charge of today's modern day players. It would be hilarious. Yes I know times have changed and youngsters are very different now from "our days"...but what an interesting experiment.
Unfortunately they have 10 NRL squad members unavailable and had to obtain "permission" from the NRL for three of the Interchange players to be selected for NRL this week - Taylor has already played NRL - All on extended bench contracts - Zack Dockar-Clay / Makahesi Makatoa / Taylor Losalu
6 or 7 would be in the 17 this week if available. - Take 6 or 7 players out of any NRL side and it will be a hard task to win games.
Xavier Va'a
De La Salle Va'a
Egan Butcher
Nat Butcher
Victor Radley
Sam Walker
Brandon Smith
Spencer Leniu
Fetalaiga Pauga
Beniah Ioelu
Has a flow on affect as far as Jersey Flegg and NSW Cup goes in fielding 18 players each game - Junior Reps as well if some of those players (SG Ball) for instance are called up to play Senior Reps.
no doubt. my point was that it wasn't a good idea to add two more new debutants to the 17 as the original post was arguing for. but with lindsay out our hand has well and truly been forced.
what can you say - the boys really need to have a dig

Mate, some experiment it would be. I've often thought about how different era figures would go, especially in a coaching/managerial capacity.
Sir Alex Ferguson ruled with an iron fist and was brutal but I think his methods would be less effective nowadays in football/soccer given the amount of power there is with player agents.
We replace a prop with a halfback. Shows how f****d we are.
We need a white flag. Maybe Panthers will be kind and declare.
You do realise 4 props are out and they had to get approval from the NRL to play two other props not in the Top 30 and on extended bench contracts in Makahesi Makatoa and Taylor Losalu ( Taylor played last week with the same approval and did okay)
Take 7 out of the top 17 of any side and they will struggle

In Hugo's defence he is the biggest half back I have seen for a while. There were a couple of schoolboy twins from out your way back in the 90's King, can't remember their names but they played in tthe halves and were bigger then some of the front rowers they played against
