Here is what I’d like to see.
I know it will take 6 games to get rid of Townsend, but I would just admit my mistakes and get some young guys on the field.
Teach them how to defend , if we can hold the ball the attack will score points.

    1. James Tedesco
    2. Daniel Tupou
    3. Billy Smith
    4. Robert Toia
    5. Mark Nawaqanitawase
    6. Sandon Smith
    7. Hugo Savala
    8. Lindsay Collins
    9. . Zach Dockar-Clay
    10. Naufahu Whyte
    11. Angus Crichton
    12. Foketi
    13. Connor Watson

    Interchange

    14 . Siua Wong
    15. Max McCathie
    16. Blake Steep
    17. Taylor Losalu

I like it. Only change I'd make is I'd put Rodwell in the 7 and Savala can be utility off the bench. He has the size.

I like DY more than the average Chookpenner but its gotten to the point where his defence is so bad he needs to learn to get better with a stint in the reserves.

not all experience is good experience. is blooding young players in an away game against the best team in the comp a good idea?

We are a much better side with Watson at 13.

How many times have you seen Savala play. I assume you know all about him as he’s in your side.

Unfortunately they have 10 NRL squad members unavailable and had to obtain "permission" from the NRL for three of the Interchange players to be selected for NRL this week - Taylor has already played NRL - All on extended bench contracts - Zack Dockar-Clay / Makahesi Makatoa / Taylor Losalu

6 or 7 would be in the 17 this week if available. - Take 6 or 7 players out of any NRL side and it will be a hard task to win games.
          1. Xavier Va'a
          2. De La Salle Va'a
          3. Egan Butcher
          4. Nat Butcher
          5. Victor Radley
          6. Sam Walker
          7. Brandon Smith
          8. Spencer Leniu
          9. Fetalaiga Pauga
          10. Beniah Ioelu

Has a flow on affect as far as Jersey Flegg and NSW Cup goes in fielding 18 players each game - Junior Reps as well if some of those players (SG Ball) for instance are called up to play Senior Reps.

I think Dom is great , he won’t get dropped but if Billy Smith comes in , someone misses out. I’d make the tough call on Dom.

I’ve seen enough of Townsend already, his kicking game is awful his defence is awful , he’s not going to work out.

Savala is 22 , his time is now or never, it would be a huge upgrade on Townsend. From the little I’ve seen , Savala is good enough if coached well.

It’s a rebuild year , as Trent says it’s time for the young blokes to play .
Some of the 5th tackle debacles last week were terrible , I can’t watch it again.

The Roosters horror start to the season has the potential to get even worse. Forward leader Lindsay Collins is OUT tomorrow, he did cop a knock last week so it may be related to that. Hugo Savala comes in for his NRL debut.

Speaking of Chad, does anyone else think its not great timing to be building his online reality profile atm?

I mean he's in the new playmaker role at a struggling club (albeit ex powerhouse) that needs to be his 100% focus. Just my opinion.

If this is true , then we are in real strife .

It has a feel of men versus boys game

                        Roosters set to lose Collins

Roosters forward Lindsay Collins is battling illness and a head cut and is set to miss Friday night’s clash against the Panthers.

Hugo Savala comes into the bench for his NRL debut.

We replace a prop with a halfback. Shows how f****d we are.

We need a white flag. Maybe Panthers will be kind and declare.

Roosters forward Lindsay Collins has been ruled out of Friday night’s clash against the Panthers due to illness.

Hugo Savala comes into the bench for his NRL debut.

The Coogee Wombats junior came through the grades as a half but won’t play that role against the defending premiers, with the 194cm giant to play anywhere he’s needed after he scored a try and kicked two goals in NSW Cup last week.

“Hugo is a local boy who grew up in the area and has been a Roosters supporter since he was born,” coach Trent Robinson said.

“He’s come through as a half and I’ve loved training him. He’s brought so much energy to the team. I’ve moved him around a bit in the pre-season – and I know he plays in the halves – but he’s gone from wing to front row in all of our training sessions which has given him the capacity to play on the bench.
