Our forward pack has been great this year. We haven't suffered from the loss of Myles and Ryles too much at all, to be honest. Our four big boppers are going from strength to strength, and with Evans, Liu, Tago and Napa waiting in the wings we have ready-made replacements. Cordner has really stepped up in Myles' absence, shouldering good workloads and having a few more strings to his bow than big Nate. Guerra and Arona have stood up as well, this year.
Graham going at first seemed an issue, but with Moga emerging and slowly establishing himself in first grade, I doubt we will lose much. Linnett is probably the bigger loss IMO. Leilua has been inconsistent at centre, and Tagive has been a bit up and down on the wing. Linnett wasn't a world beater, but he was stable, safe, strong and had plenty of speed in the open.

In short spurts our forward pack has been good. Over the length of the whole match, the statistics tell a totally different story. Kennedy is our top forward, averaging 85m a match. What does that tell you?
Our forwards need to start eating as many weet-bix as Tim Cahill & Brett Lee :S....
lets be honest with ourselves, the tigers didnt show up on sunday and we could very much be sitting back in 14th position with: manly, sharks & bunnies in the next 4 weeks. the stat about Kennedy being our top forward with only 85m per game has to be a worry.

What it tells us is that our forward pack has a high performance ceiling, but haven't developed any consistency. Hardly any ground-breaking news, considering we all recognised at the start of the season that they were talented, but young.
I'd say FPN, Aubbo and Mose are the only legitimate disappointments. FPN is old enough to do better and Aubbo and Mose have higher expectations placed on them given their past experience.
Mose is a massive dud, he provides the team with not much. He could be a world beater, but doesn't appear to have the heart or the intrinsic motivation to push himself. I hope he proves me wrong.
FPN has the skills, and as Sunday showed when he wants to commit himself he can be awesome. Just needs to be 100% committed every game.
Aubusson has been a massive disappointment this year, and I for one think that he should be given a stint in Newtown and let Jack Bosden (who was very good in his two FG games) have a run.
Kennedy - 14 games, average 11 runs for 91 metres, average 25 tackles, 1 linebreaks, 1 tries
Hargreaves - 14 games, average 11 runs for 90 metres, average 26 tackles, 3 linebreaks, 3 tries
Guerra - 11 games, average 10 runs for 76 metres, average 26 tackles, 4 linebreaks, 3 tries
Aubusson - 14 games, average 7 runs for 56 metres, average 24 tackles, 5 linebreaks, 2 tries
Cordner - 12 games, average 9 runs for 67 metres, average 22 tackles, 5 linebreaks, 2 tries
Arona - 12 games, average 10 runs for 74 metres, average 24 tackles, 2 linebreaks, 2 tries
Nuuausala - 9 games, average 9 runs for 74 metres, average 16 tackles, 0 linebreaks, 0 tries (also 19 offloads)
Takairangi - 9 games, average 6 runs for 37 metres, average 14 tackles, 1 linebreaks, 0 tries (also 15 offloads)
Masoe - 10 games, average 6 runs for 60 metres, average 13 tackles, 0 linebreaks, 0 tries
Tasi - 14 games, average 8 runs for 78 metres, average 17 tackles, 2 linebreaks, 2 tries
Aubusson has still been our most incisive forward, but he has been disappointing on past standards. I believe that he is not receiving the ball that he used to. He is not one to create much himself - he is relatively small, but a great cover defender. In attack, he needs to be used running off a pro-active Pearce or Maloney, hitting a hole on the fringe and breaking through.
Interesting that Oldfield is not named for the Eagles... looks like the Dogs are waiting for the Roosters to name their team to see if they can get Perrett!!
Can't imagine Oldfield has been dropped for signing with us as Whare is playing... could be coming across.. or more likely he is just the 3rd winger at the moment.
