  • Official Match Day Thread: Roosters v Panthers

I thought come origin time we would have no props. I wasn’t expected it as early as Round 2. Regardless I’m looking forward to the game tonight to see how we bounce back. We all know we’re up against it but after the embarrassment of last week, tonight gives us an opportunity to gain some respect.

The Panthers managed to smash us when we had a good team. We’ll have to be patient with the current squad. An improved defensive effort and no cricket score will be a good building block to the upcoming few games against the weaker sides. Let’s play with heart and win back some respect.

    Kick-Off 8pm.

    GO ROOSTERS!

The only thing that matters tonight is by how many.

Never been so disinterested and embarrassed running into a game day like last week and this week

Maybe a tracker should be how long it takes to give away our first penalty and a 6A, but as we know it’s not always us that contributes to that.

We will bounce back for that I’m sure.

            It's a throwback to the late 80's early 90's.

I think on the positive side if we keep it to under a 30pt margin, we can be happy.

The Pen shouldn't be in meltdown too much tonight as the expectations are so unbelievably low.

I’d be happy to keep it under 60.

What do you mean The Pen goes into meltdown even when we win.

With the heat in Sydney this weekend, one of the few times I'm glad we play a night game. I don't think this Panthers squad have the strike of Brisbane so expecting a "lesser" margin. Looking forward again to watching the progress of our centres.

As long as we are clear, excited and ready...I'm happy.

Yeah so would I. I think 30pts you could almost take as a victory hahaha.

                          And yes that's true.

They don't you are right. They are less likely to score those long range tries, which we are specialists at conceding. Walsh and Edwards are polar opposite fullbacks, will be a completely different task this evening.

What the issue will be is if we make errors or dont kick out of trouble properly, which we are prone to do. They are a great pressure building side and they will have the ball for 75% of the game if we don't show discipline or get overwhelmed. So clinical with the ball usually aswell so if they have it for 3/4s of the game they'll score points with it.

Our young forwards need to stand up tonight.
