Tell ya what, I was watching the pressers and the ****ing idiotic journos putting forward the possibility that the licorice all sorts lost because they flew back from Vegas TWO ****ING WEEKS AGO FFS ….i broke my neck in 04 and after a couple of months I had to fly to holland for a family thing , I walked from one end of Heathrow to the other flew to Amsterdam caught a train to Maastricht and there was nothing wrong with me apart from a hint of pain in said broken neck , and these supremely fit humans can’t get over a flight after two weeks ….what a load of fkn crap …god forbid the 4 time premiers had a off fkn night

To be fair, Ivan dismissed this theory during the presser, refused to provide a specific reason for the loss (just said 'it's a classic upset). He was pretty clear that the Riff didn't have tired legs at the end, so it couldn't have been Vegas fatigue. However, the media still ran with this story.

TBH I don't care why the Riff were off their game... they were and I'm happy to take the lollies after all the cr@p that got spoken about us last week.

All the pundits were like 'Drongos are gonna be unbeatable this season and Easts CANNOT come back from that... getting flogged in round 1 is unacceptable and you can't come back from that!!!' Be interesting to see what a few poddies have to say about those predictions
