Agree. However it depends on how consistent Dom Young is. He was great last night but woeful against the Broncos.

Mark N would also be a great winger.

It'll be the ultimate sneak attack if we can have a serious stab at the premiership with a squad that everybody's written off as being inadequate.

One thing I like about our club culture is that we're humble. Both Penrith and Brisbane make you wanna punch their players in the face because they over-celebrate all their tries, even when they're up by 50 against a lesser team. I get that's just how they are but I'm glad that we have a bit more class.

I am trying to think of wins like last night where we are massive outsiders and knock off a top team. I had $100 on us at $5.25 or something like that in 2007 when we beat Melbourne at home it was early in Freddy's tenure when we went on a run of wins and I was confident we were going to win every game for the year and make the semis, sadly didn't.

We demolished Melbourne in the final game of 2011 where Bellamy made the error of resting Smith and Slater and it stuffed their season. I got to briefly meet Bellamy, Smith and Slater as they were talking to a few Storm fans sitting in front of me when I had a Bay 12 ST. Bellamy and Smith were nice guys and actually sat with those 2 fans for about 5-10 minutes right on kick off but Slater was a bit cold and not interested in talking.

2009 didn't give us any good wins like that. I enjoyed the Newcastle win after SKD was the whipping boy all season long on The Wall and he got dropped for the match but was called up late in the week and played a blinder.

2016 gave us the epic one man demolition job from Napa against Souths and we thumped Brisbane late in the season too it was their last loss of the regular season and cost them a spot in the top 4

I don't remember any good wins in 2006. 2005 was the most annoying season because we should have been in the top 8 comfortably. I remember when we thumped Brisbane late in the season when Mini literally ran rings around KHunt the channel 9 commentators were talking us up as potentially being the first team from 8th to go on a run to the grand final that's how much of an under performer we were.

                  • After watching the game again I couldnt see one player for the Chooks who didnt play well.
It seems to me that the young Islander boys who came into the side were able to play to the best of their ability without the star players (Collins, Rads, N Butcher) being in the side.
Its not going to happen but that side last night should be the same side next week to play the Warriors.
A lot of Islander boys at the Chooks now.

We lost a lot of close games in 2005. Didn't have Freddy to finish the game off.

It was the beginning of the end for Sticky.

Robbo loves Billy, it will be interesting to see what he does when Billy gets back to full fitness because Mark N has looked like a weapon at centre all I heard about him was he was a winger in rugby union but he looks like a league centre to me. Billy Smith's defence is great though and I think that's what Robbo will prioritise.

Does Billy Smith even get back in to the team straight away? Tupou is a given, Young is getting paid too much to play reggies he won't get dropped, Toia has proved to be a gun and Mark N has been great too Billy might just have to wait his turn in NSW cup.

We got absolutely robbed against Manly at home midway through the season which ended up costing us a spot in the 8 as they were 8th and we were 9th only 2 points behind them. We lost to Souths for the first time in about 10 years too which was embarrassing I think it was Finch who went for a field goal and kicked it to the corner post. There was also ANZAC day where we completed 1 or 2 of our first 10 sets and Finch had a 3 man overlap down the left and he put the ball 5 rows back in to the crowd, lost by the epic Matt Head conversion at the end.

                          • Had a laugh at the media’s expense last night with the
Ch9 programming post match of gutter journo Chammas interviewing May.
The media and NRL wanting to put in the boot in for click bait revenue when they expecting us to be beaten that’s why the Smith the Turd allowed the riff back in the game.

Agreed. Fresh new players. Fresh approach. Fresh result.

Can Fresh be the new buzz word?
