One thing I like about our club culture is that we're humble. Both Penrith and Brisbane make you wanna punch their players in the face because they over-celebrate all their tries, even when they're up by 50 against a lesser team. I get that's just how they are but I'm glad that we have a bit more class.

We demolished Melbourne in the final game of 2011 where Bellamy made the error of resting Smith and Slater and it stuffed their season. I got to briefly meet Bellamy, Smith and Slater as they were talking to a few Storm fans sitting in front of me when I had a Bay 12 ST. Bellamy and Smith were nice guys and actually sat with those 2 fans for about 5-10 minutes right on kick off but Slater was a bit cold and not interested in talking.
2009 didn't give us any good wins like that. I enjoyed the Newcastle win after SKD was the whipping boy all season long on The Wall and he got dropped for the match but was called up late in the week and played a blinder.
2016 gave us the epic one man demolition job from Napa against Souths and we thumped Brisbane late in the season too it was their last loss of the regular season and cost them a spot in the top 4
I don't remember any good wins in 2006. 2005 was the most annoying season because we should have been in the top 8 comfortably. I remember when we thumped Brisbane late in the season when Mini literally ran rings around KHunt the channel 9 commentators were talking us up as potentially being the first team from 8th to go on a run to the grand final that's how much of an under performer we were.Last edited by SamKerrSimp; 03-15-2025, 03:45 PM.

After watching the game again I couldnt see one player for the Chooks who didnt play well.
It seems to me that the young Islander boys who came into the side were able to play to the best of their ability without the star players (Collins, Rads, N Butcher) being in the side.
Its not going to happen but that side last night should be the same side next week to play the Warriors.
A lot of Islander boys at the Chooks now.

Does Billy Smith even get back in to the team straight away? Tupou is a given, Young is getting paid too much to play reggies he won't get dropped, Toia has proved to be a gun and Mark N has been great too Billy might just have to wait his turn in NSW cup.

Had a laugh at the media’s expense last night with the
Ch9 programming post match of gutter journo Chammas interviewing May.
The media and NRL wanting to put in the boot in for click bait revenue when they expecting us to be beaten that’s why the Smith the Turd allowed the riff back in the game.
