Can't say I understand why we'd let him go early, granted he's been pretty average for us he's still someone with 150 games of experience and rep footy under his belt. Even if they didn't want to shift Watson from hooker Brandon would be much better on the bench than Zack Dockar-Clay for 2025.

2026 makes sense as both Robson and Watson are better choices.

This is part of our current dilemma, ay? It's great to develop players and choose only people who are a perfect cultural fit. However, right now we just need viable first graders to fill gaps!!!

Yes there's 100 reasons why we're not going with him next season and Robson's the better player/fit. However for now he's way better than nobody and (for example) would give us more options.

Our current issue is that 1/2 our swuad were signed to play NSW Cup. I've already told a heap of Brisbane fans to get over themselves as sure... they can beat a NSW cup team now (a massive boost after least season)... but their big win was mostly due to us being shyte. Sadly, Penrith probably won't let in 3 easy tries and go in and out of the game like Brisbane did.

Upgraded Connor Watson, Spencer Leniu and Sam Walker last year - if reports are to believed
Connor went from 350k to 600k
Spencer went from 500k to 850k
Sam Walker went from 600k to 1mill

That is only $1mill extra out of all the talent we lost is really only JWH & Mays salary combined
Where the hell Manu, Suaalii, Sitili and Kearys pay went is anyones guess.....
