    I reckon you're right there.

just watched the tackle again, what a load of sh$t of a charge. The level of incompetent from video ref is absurd. I hope the club fight it

That was Jack Williams- and you are right, it was a shoulder flush to the chin. It was equal if not worse than Foketi

Seems like the video ref can intervene and go back and recommend a sin bin in the case of Foketi, but in this case when play is stopped and the video ref gets a good look at it then its right to go with just a penalty.

What makes it worse is Jack Williams gets a grade 1 charge and a token $1800 fine.

Predictable. They cover up refs mistakes like this all the time. Was barely a penalty. Almost cost us the game, as a did a few others, particularly the obstruction not called just before one of their tries. A few calling Marky Mark’s pass to Tupou forward bc of the ridiculous comments from the Fox commentators. The ground level camera showed it clearly backwards, but they go off laughing the ref missed it. Trying to make controversy where there isn’t any, or else not wanting to admit they got it wrong from the initial view!

Good Post Random R. The inconsistency is consistent and intended.
Atkins was in the bunker re Foketi then as ref regarding Williams incident. Tabloid 9 asked puppet Fittler for his opinion on the Foketi ruling and hung him out to dry. His changed his narrative on the Williams incident. It’s not hard to figure out games over a long season are engineered either for the top 8 , for and against, winning margins and suspensions/fines along with tabloid click bait of over 3000 official NRL media stories per season. Games aren’t decided by the bounce of the ball. They knew we were going to win but they just can’t help themselves by interfering as in the case of Foketi. Disruption and Corruption. I’m no conspiracy theorist however it’s a clear pattern of the NRL/Media partnership.

I thought exactly the same thing. The club has to fight the charge and use this hit as an example. Make the NRL address the inconsistency.

That's a joke. The NRL don't allow the use of prior incidents when making a defence at the judiciary but surely using something that happened 2 days later which is objectively worse which resulted in no sin bin and a lighter grading would be allowed to be brought up.

Good to see that the club will be challenging this and seeking a downgrade on Tuesday night.

Not sure who will represent as they all fly over to NZ tomorrow but hopefully common sense prevails and this kid can enjoy a game in front of his family & friends on Friday night.

Sadly when sent to the sin bin other than professional fouls or repeated infringements a Grade 2 charge as a minimum is usually the outcome - hard to see him being downgraded though so may have been best to cop the 1 week?

                        Love the passion he brings.
The kid can hit too, nice timing. Steep is another one who puts mongrel into each tackle.
Ethan Roberts is next cab off the rank. I get a buzz seeing next generation players coming through.

Williams hit was worse than Foketi's but he only got a Grade 1 charge and fine. Foketi has put in a guilty plea but is contesting the grading. I'm happy if NRL want grade 2 for what Foketi and Leniu did but they still let lots of similar tackles off. Watson was hit high 3 times without penalty but was penalised for a slap on the chin when stretched. We are still refereed harshly compared to some teams and the match review committee seems to back the poor referee decisions up. I thought Todd Smith started out OK as a ref but he is now making the same dumb calls as the rest of them. They must be coached that way
