Look at the NRL website highlights at 4.13. https://www.nrl.com/news/2025/03/14/...-round-2-2025/

Score 38-30 with less than 2 minutes left.

    Have a look at it.

Ball has already been passed by dummy half and at that point the closest roosters defender is no more than 2 metres off the line. So definitely onside.

When Young slaps the ball down and the movement breaks down, Smith orders an offside penalty goal to engineer a possible panthers win.

Roosters are not liked by the NRL my friends.

I’m friggen over this NRL administration - let’s use this as further motivation and win the comp this year and really shove it up them!

          Bloody corrupt criminals.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

Jack Williams (Eels) Grade 2 Careless High Tackle 2nd Offence Guilty - early plea $1800 fine
Salesi Foketi (Roosters) Grade 2 Careless High Tackle 1st Offence Guilty at panel 2 matches
            How is that fair?

Roosters have done badly at match review and judiciary for several years especially compared to some of the low charges and downgrades they have given out

Sorry, I know it doesn’t fit your narrative, but if you watch the extended highlights or the full replay you will see that Wong definitely leaves early and is a metre or 2 in front of the line when the ball is in the dummy half’s hands.

The article that accompanies the above table states that Williams charge was a grade 1, which explains the difference in punishment.

It doesn’t explain why Foketi copped a grade 2 and Williams worse tackle was a Grade 1.

That sums up the nrl right there
same tackle - 2md offence for the parra player and he cops a fine while Foketi gets suspended for 2 games
never change nrl - refs and judiciary leaving players and fans bewildered sense I don’t know when

I’d like to see an on-field sin bin deduct a week from the overall ban.

If they’d lost the game as a result of being a player down and then cop a further two weeks for an innocuous hit like what Salesi was rubbed out for , doesn’t seem right.

Given the comp will be expanded into potentially 20 teams, you’d hope there’ll be enough quality players to fill the quota of 700 odd players in the future.

Isn't there a separate charge for a shoulder charge to the carless and reckless high tackles? Williams should have been charged with that

Fair call. I didn't read the article just looked at the charge sheet on the NRL website. The table had Jack Williams as a grade 2.

The game managers are corrupt, and that includes the video idiot and the match review moron.
The original decision was just to keep Penrith in the game, there was nothing in the tackle.
The follow up lunacy is only trying to justify the sin bin.
I couldn't count how many worse tackles I saw over the weekend.

                            Fuk the nrl

So, anyone, did he get downgraded?
What was the result from last night's hearing?
