mmm if DCE does sign he will cop it as well though you can bet on that - People need to show faith , patience and perseverance - A lot were probably not around in the old days - It took 20 years to play another grand final after 1980 (2000) and 27 years to win another comp after 1975 ( 2002).

If the Chookpen was around in many of those bleak years many of the posters wouldn't be - be in some place under observation after multiple melt downs.

It's all about faith , patience and perseverance when supporting a team that things will turn around if not going so well and when they do it pays off.

DCE is a much different class of player to Townsend.
Townsend was never intended to play here unless there was injury to the main guys Smith and Walker. DCE is a completely different kettle of fish.

Chad isn’t first grade standard anymore and was signed for cheap to help the younger halves in res grade

DCE is still top 3 or so halves in the comp
330 odd games and mid 20s in SOO and Aus games
he is playing as good as ever and rarely misses a game

Chads best years are behind him. He is ESL standard.

DCE is fortunate enough that he can still perform at a high level and is still rep quality.

Compare how many rep games they've both played if you're not convinced about DCE.

DCE doesn't seem impacted by age yet, his team is running 2nd on the ladder, he's open to playing Origin this season and he's only missed 20 games or whatever it is, most due to him playing Origin.

Looks like qld reds are now offering DCE a monster deal at 1.4million a year.

We managed to beat Penrith only we need the coach to get his selections and tactics right. Bringing in the big names to replace a successful win backfired.

If he doesn't come here then who do we get to be competitive in 2026? We can't stick with a combo of Sandon/Walker or Townsend/Walker, we're already in round 5 and fans are cringing seeing Sandon/Townsend on the team sheets.

A bloke at work was saying Parra. Dunno if he was just confused though as he said it was already announced... he then (as a Souffs fan) asked me who Cameron Murray and Campbell Graham were when I tried having a chat about this week's game by asking if they're still out.
