  • Well Robinson certainly hasn’t said anything to downplay the speculation. We’ve been pretty consistent as a club in the last few years to nip fake news in the bud, ie Moses, Lomax, Haas.

Robbo saying that nothing will be spoken about until further decisions are made and that he’s looking into it speaks volumes.

Agreed. Obviously how Sam takes this will be a huge factor as most on here see Sam as the future. Personally, I'd like to see Sam under 2 years of further development at our club under the wing of the current QLD No 7. I haven't seen that SOO aspect mentioned much. Sam looks to be the chosen one to succeed DCE at a state level so what an opportunity to tick both club and state boxes.

Yes definitely a strong pull there. Be interesting if DCE retires from rep footy this year who they will go with at 7 given Sam won’t be back from injury yet. You’d think Ben Hunt most likely.

I agree though. Big factor in him coming here. I think it helps their development not hinder it like some think it would.

          • If what they said on 360 was right Manly shopped him last year. The no offer unless some other club comes at you with an offer.

Kinda think Manly want him out so they can make a play for Fogarty.
End result he finishes with us or the dogs.

            • Sam Walker had no issues with us chasing Ben Hunt, so I doubt he would have any problems with us chasing DCE

At full strength he’d be my lock for sure. Yes he’s a great 14 too but he’s amongst our best and fittest should play 80.

It's a shame they're only half their old size.

I wont buy them anymore for that reason.

I think start Wong on the edge with rads at 13
still allow Watson to play 60 min
gives rads 20-30 and also give Wong a break
Watson coming on with tired players would be lethal
                    unless rads is the 14?

Not ridiculous to say someone is better at all, it’s a proven fact. DCE next year is still better than a 50 game SS & the year after he’s still better than a 70 game SS. By the time DCE hangs up the boots after a 2 year stint SS might be ready, although I doubt it & im 100% certain he won’t be the long term plan for us & won’t be in the Halves when we are challenging again next.

Can you prove they were after Johnson though, when everyone knew his body called time on his career?

Hunt was seen as a half until Walker returned and then a dummy half - DCE mmm so you know what the club is intending as far as signings go - of course you don't.

So what if I support the Sydney/Central Coast Roosters pathway for players coming through to the NRL?.

The Central Coast is the Roosters' future - where do you think - Connor Watson / Robert Toia / Blake Steep / Sandon Smith/Ethan King etc., for instance, came from - plenty more like them coming along the pathways from the Central Coast. Men's and women's players.

Most of the NRLW squad are from the Central Coast.

I have high hopes for many of these Central Coast players to progress from the Andrew Johns Cup (Under 16's) through to the NRL, including the women's players to advance to the NRLW from the Lisa Fialoa/Tarsha Gale Cup and NSW Women's Premiership.

You can't keep them all, of course.

I have a very strong interest in and support for the club as a whole, from Junior Reps and Senior-Both Central Coast and Sydney Roosters Men's and Women's through to NRL/NRLW.

Too many on here like you write players off with this wanting instant success mentality if the team loses. Want them gone, and the coach sacked bollocks we have to continually endure.

I would very much doubt your interest in the club extends past the NRL.

                          Incorrect on many fronts.
Currently in Tumut as I’m involved in the biggest infrastructure job in the country & several hundred grand a year is worth a stint there as opposed to living in a fibro like yourself. I bought a house there on average that I’ll still have fully paid off after I leave. I moved from Newtown to Tumut just for reference, but have my house there still.
I also have no family here & didn’t know anyone, so wrong on that front.
Yes my priority lies with NRL side as that’s what the club is. Below that & outside of the real Roosters teams I have no real allegiance as there is no real alignment which you would understand as we chew through feeder clubs. Glad you follow a team that possibly won’t even be aligned with us in another few years, but that’s not my thing. As for the ladies team couldn’t care if they ever won a game as it’s rubbish & the local Tumut under 18s would destroy them.
But while living in Sydney I was actually a member of Newtown & walked there to watch games.
I also want as many of our academy players to succeed, but bloke you I don’t have blind faith in them all & I’d rather success over having any academy players in the first grade side. I can also tell that SS just isn’t a long term player unlike yourself.
As for Johnson well no I don’t know for sure what the deal with, but you also don’t know what the deal is with SS & what the club or Trent thinks of him & his ability. He’s filling a spot for now, but that’s all you know.

And he's done nothing at SOO level as well - can't recall him beingt MOM or the reason that Queensland ended up winning a series recently.

At 38 or 39 years of age I can't see him doing anything useful for the Roosters either - I bet he won't do anything to make us premiership contenders, despite what other people are saying.

My tip is that he is more likely to be considered for NSW Cup next year - his time as a first grader has well and truly passed.

This is going to be another Roosters recruitment blunder , in a long list of recent disappointments.
Haha laughable that you think it’s for NSW cup. He’s just turned down $750k a year on a 2 year deal at the Northern Beaches knobs & you think that’s to play Cup?
Hes getting a mill a year next year if it’s for us, Fogs, Phons or other.
