Can someone explain to me...

Im still learning the finer points of the game so can y'all tell me how Jack Williams is charged with a Grade Two Careless High Tackle, it is his 2nd offense and he is issued a $1800 fine for early plea...but Foketi with the same charge and only his 1st offense is issued a 1 match ban for an early plea. Was Foketis increased because of the sin binning or is there something else that I'm not seeing?

The judiciary for the most part doesn't make sense so no point trying to make sense of it. Sorry for not giving a genuine thought out answer but that's how I really feel about it.

I say this in jest but it's a problem with 'fining' players. JWH and Rads can afford to pay all the fines, but I dare say many fringe players (who'd be on no more than what I am) cannot afford to just palm off a few grand every few weeks coz Uncle Pete needs more of his magic toys.

It's a stupid system. The cynic in me says that 1/2 the reason they went after Foketi is that they tried to give Penrith the game (possibly to protect their sponsors from having to pay-out some large bets of Easts, paying out at $12) and still failed, so chucked a tanty. That and their fear of the legal boogie man. Oh yeah.... we talked to American sports with budgets the size of the entire Australian economy (in a country where crazy punitive damages are regularly awarded 'just because') and are now scared shyteless that the same thing might happen here. Coz. Um... American courts are totally like Australian courts...

An absurd theory on its own, but the TAB would have profited a whole lot more with the $1.05 favourites Penrith getting beaten...that would have been a leg in 10s of thousands of multis, all of which lost because of that result.

Mrs Salvo has travelled to Russia as it's not likely her Mother Liudmila will live much longer - she has a number of cancers of a terminal nature - she was a nuclear power plant worker in the Soviet Union and beyond. The cancer must be related to this work, I feel.

Mrs Salvo's friend from Uni in the Soviet Union (now Bukovinian State Medical University-Chernivtsi, Ukraine) and her two sons are staying in another property of ours.

Both sons were badly wounded in the Russian -Ukraine war. 1 was a paramedic taking two wounded Ukrainian soldiers to a hospital when a Russian artillery shell landed in front of the ambulance.

The ambulance went down an embankment - both wounded soldiers were killed and Vadym was seriously injured and was not expected to live but survived - 4 months in hospital. - Ongoing rehab

Second, son Gleb was badly wounded when Russian troops overran their trenches in Bakhmut - Also not expected to live but survived - 4 months in Hospital and ongoing rehabilitation.

I was unaware they were coming to Australia until we went back to the Leumeah property - we went the previous week as I had to mow the lawns and what not - not rented.

Mrs Salvo then said we have to go to the airport - why I asked as we are not going anywhere are we ?- You will find out she says - remember Viktoriia and her two sons Vadym and Gleb - Yes they lived on the same floor of the apartment we own in that apartment block.

I think Mrs Salvo may have been keeping it quiet, thinking I would say they should do their duty as both had been passed fit to re-join their Ukraine Military Units in a few weeks' time.

Not sure how they got out of Ukraine or obtained Visas though
