All part of the players development even the more experienced one's no matter what team sport you play.
I still back Sandon probably the only one now.
DCE hasn't said if he's playing on or not to my knowledge.
Manly last won a comp in 2011 so all the new found "fans" of DCE need to take a deep breath that he will be some sort of messiah as from 2016 he has delivered what at Manly as the Million Dollar Man - only splitting the club and playing group which they are still recovering from.
750k a season for 2 seasons is good money to re-sign with Manly at his age plus a coaching role post retirement worth a couple of hundred grand a year as well one assumes.
Whose to say a combo of DCE and Sam Walker will work in any case

So yeh, he's finding his feet as a half in the NRL. That's just common sense, surely?

I don't rate Sandon Smith as highly as some but I also think the melodramatic commentary from some on him is over the top too. He's a decent young 5/8 who's trying to find his feet.
By the end of the game Radley was pretty much having to play halfback because Townsend just wasn't sited in good ball. No young 5/8 is thriving in those circumstances.
i don’t think radley trusted Chad at all, took over passing duties

Sandon in particular should have been hooked he was that bad. Totally insipid display in the final third.
Can we not orchestrate a midseason early transfer for DCE? He couldn’t come quicker!

I’m gonna say something that I’ve been avoiding:
Toups has lost his edge
While he is solid and trustworthy, he isn’t what he used to be. We just don’t have the thrust returning kicks and he isn’t icing breaks with his pace these days. Between him and Dom, they’re not getting the sets started as well as they should be.
