    An oldie but a goodie!

The slowest halves pairing in the history of Rugby League.

We have the worst halves in the comp.
Not quite sure how a different opinion is trolling though - please explain

If we put Savala at 6 and Rodwell at 7 for next week, could we do any worse than the two muppets we had tonight?

Sam Walker was greatly helped out in his first year of the NRL in 2021 by the Hutchinator, which many here never ever acknowledge.

Walker is a long way from the finished product himself as anyone knows- 77 NRL games - Sandon has played 33 games and the majority from the bench.
mate, you are way off here.

sam walker showed a lot of promose in his early games, sandon has not shown much.

I remember early 21 or 22 saying along with multiple other posters that l.lam was not up to being a fg half, you were intent on saying he was. when the club let him go Nada....

I'm all for backing the youth and try to be supportive, but on occasion it is clear that a kid is put of his depth, it is not personal , and 1 good game 3 poor games does not cut it .

we have some really good kids, i thin r toia looks promising, wong will be a good un , whyte is developing, however sandon just looks a long way off .

You are lying to yourself at this point. Sam Walker was winning us games and icing big moments only a handful of games into his career. He debuted with a busted AC joint and about 15kg lighter than the next lightest on the field yet carved up most teams in his first season. He ate up the pressure. Hutch was a solid hand because Walker had so much creativity in his game.

Sandon looks overwhelmed, makes awful decisions and is nowhere near where Sam was. Granted, he is not helped by how poor Townsend has been. Offered zero creativity. Here’s one for you, I reckon “Hutchinator” showed a whole lot more than Townsend has.

I would like nothing more than to see Sandon kick on, he’s been in our system a while but he looks so far off it it’s not funny. DCE would improve this side exponentially. It’s up to Sandon to prove that theory wrong, and he hasn’t done it yet.

If Robbo doesn’t make a tough call on these halves for next week then he’s kidding himself.

Two years ago he sensationally dropped Sam Walker before the Anzac Day game only to replace him with a centre in Joey Manu which didn’t end well..

No way anyone can convince me Walkers form in the Sharks game prior to Anzac Day round was any worse than both Sandon and Chad’s efforts tonight?!?!

So let’s see if Trent is consistent with his tough calls next week!

                Great point mate.

My suspicion is that he won’t change a thing.

Team sports wins are achieved by a team effort and not by individuals. Not quite sure that the concept of a team sport is understood here though.

Sandon is in a development stage coming along the pathway from the Andrew Johns Cup to the NRL, which is no mean feat to say the least, and should be celebrated.

Not everything Sandon does will work out the same as any player, including many more experienced players - notice how a SOO QLD and Australian International player in Lindsay Collins is trashed by posters on here, plus countless other more experienced players as well.

Fans/ Supporters accept wins, losses and draws and as a normal scenario of supporting a team in a team sport.

You can't win every year or be successful every year and only 1 team can win in a team sport competition in the end,

Probably not, but we could set back their development if they get absolutely smashed.

And where is the Hutchinator now? That’s right no longer with the club as he was garbage and he can’t even get a game for the dogs.

Problem is that nobody is ready for first grade yet so Robbo has no choice but to persist with the rubbish he’s got.

I don't rate Sandon Smith as highly as some but I also think the melodramatic commentary from some on him is over the top too. He's a decent young 5/8 who's trying to find his feet.

By the end of the game Radley was pretty much having to play halfback because Townsend just wasn't sited in good ball. No young 5/8 is thriving in those circumstances.
Im a fan of Sandon but he is a 6 not a 7. Chod has no eyes up footy in him. No good ball to our right side and then he drifted to the left and killed/got in the road of another bombed try

How about some high kicks for Toups or Young. Something different. Go down the blindside from dummy half close to the line like API did last week. Borrow the Tino play book. Start running hard 5 seconds before the play the ball and hope the defenders are watching the ground and you will score.

Be creative. Don’t give away penalties.
Interesting reading comments from Jamie Soward on last nights game,he was left scratching his head as to why our halves weren’t kicking high to our tall wingers and putting pressure on the opposition..

                              It’s a simple game.
