I feel for Sandon because he has to work with a twat partner. I can't blame Townsend because he wasn't signed to play NRL from R1. Just the cards we have been dealt. It would have been good to see how Sandon went with Walker in the four games. A lot of less pressure on the kid.
Two options for me. Both Townsend has to go.
1/ Sandon at 7 and Elliot at 6. Doubt Rodwell is ready for NRL.
2/ Sandon at 7 and Teddy at 6 until Walker gets back. Marky at fullback when attacking will bring him into the game more. He and Teddy are our only attacking weapons atm. Teddy back to fullback when defending. Also brings in Billy.
Desperate times.
Just my thoughts. Run at me.

Sandon is in a development stage coming along the pathway from the Andrew Johns Cup to the NRL, which is no mean feat to say the least, and should be celebrated.
Not everything Sandon does will work out the same as any player, including many more experienced players - notice how a SOO QLD and Australian International player in Lindsay Collins is trashed by posters on here, plus countless other more experienced players as well.
Fans/ Supporters accept wins, losses and draws and as a normal scenario of supporting a team in a team sport.
You can't win every year or be successful every year and only 1 team can win in a team sport competition in the end,
What you’re saying is not wrong but it is also a very basic summary. Are you saying that we should just accept mediocrity or average players as part of the game because it’s someone else’s turn to win the comp? Doesn’t make much sense. You don’t play elite sport to make up the numbers. Even the underachieving clubs are aiming to win every year.
I get it you like Sandon and the concept of bringing players through our system. But at the end of the day, if they don’t meet the objectives set, they don’t last. Even “Coach Robinson” attests to that theory, which is why he hasn’t ruled out signing DCE.
For what it’s worth, I like Sandon and I want nothing more than to see him succeed. However I’m not blind to the fact that he is well off the level he needs to be, even at this point of his career to suggest he will have a long term impact in the halves at this club. Some of it isn’t his fault, he’s only played 10 odd games as a starting half and he has a passenger who should’ve retired 2 years ago as his halves partner. Chad should be aleviating pressure from SS not adding to it. Sandon now trying too much and not sticking to the system. Still though, to compare him to where Sam was shows how far off the pace he is.Last edited by HunchoRooster; 03-29-2025, 11:51 AM.

Sandon got chucked in deep this year. The kids got 30 something NRL games so to keep going with something that just ain't working atm is madness.
We put Sammy back so should Sandon go back down and maybe bring up Rodwell who has some spark or Hugo to 6 ?
Whatever we just poor in the halves. We're poor in the front row as well except for Whyte who can bend the line but is a quiet fella
There's no forwards reving the team up. We miss that big dog element.

Sandon in particular should have been hooked he was that bad. Totally insipid display in the final third.
Can we not orchestrate a midseason early transfer for DCE? He couldn’t come quicker!

But realistically, we shouldn’t have been in that position, we should’ve took the two points to nudge the margin out to 8 and backed our defence. That’s 100% on the captain. I love Teddy but he is not leader/captain material. That was the turning point IMO, then as a whole we self destructed in the most pathetic way.
I stand by my original post. That loss was on the halves. They failed to take control and steer us to victory. They were extremely inept in the red zones. Same thing happened in the Warriors match.
Can they learn from these last few games? Time will tell because we don’t have many other plausible options right now.Exonerate the West Memphis Three - www.wm3.org

Hopefully Ethan Butcher back soon as Steep needs a bit more development.
That lack of performance from Chad was horrendous. I know he's old, but I didn't think he was scared of the contact, pharkme!Last edited by Chookies74; 03-29-2025, 07:49 PM.

.
So will the coach go with the same combo against the Vemin ?
At what point does he say OK we need to try something else ?
He's got a reserve grader and a newbie and sure that's how the cards fell. But Rodwell and Hugo maybe ?
If the whole point is to bring the young blokes through them maybe he try something different

I like a lot , was thinking along the same line, unfortunately I highly doubt Robbo would do it…
