I have a feeling we got rid of him for very legit reasons and that may or may not come to light as time goes on (no pun intended), he is clearly a talent but so are his brothers… and they been nothing but problems off field.end of the day imo the reason we don’t know why his gone is because easts are professionals.. they couldn’t just come out and say they got rid of him because his a dickhead and is a bad influence on the up and coming crop.. they talked him up and made up another reason.. Same with Brandon.. i absolutely think both him and May are out for the same reason.. they were both toxic to the young boys coming through and we cut out the cancer before it became an issue long term. Short term it looks terrible but let’s check the receipts in a couple years.
Do you actually know the true reason do you why they let May go? They said different direction - we don’t know if it was playing or off field
people starting making rumours he was sleeping with other players partners
so unless you know he was toxic and bad on the other players don’t make it up to make yourself feel better

he was one of our best players last year on around $200k who outperformed most higher paid players and front rowers
we just red signed him on a bargain $500k (which the tigers went to $750K and he is being called the buy of the year
compare that to Spencer and Collins on $700-$800k
We let him go and didn’t replace him with anyone despite loosing 1/3 of the cap, experience and middles
robbo rang him up when he was over in England before a test match - and May thought it was a prank call so he obviously wasn’t aware - different situation for the cheese on big money and not performing on or off the field, why wasn’t cheese told to go early as well?

we have botched the last few years
signing the cheese and robbo not getting the best out of him
we re signed Keary only to cut him loose again a few months later
suaali we knew was gone in 2023
we new jwh and Keary time was coming
we didn’t go all in got Ben hunt
we lost fifita and dabbled at other average players
biggest one was letting May go - we had him for a steal

He is gone and nobody will ever know why.

Can you show me a still shot of when he actually looked up and saw Tino had the ball?

This one was his worst of many on our line.

Steep has shown very little tbh. Huge potential but needs a stint in reggies.

probably the only change id make in the forwards along with a returning Connor.

I’ve spoken about May to death here. Unless he killed someone or bashed someone, no reason he shouldn’t be playing for us. I’ll say no more.

I don’t think the Keary thing gets talked about enough by the fans or even the media. He had a contract for this season and I’m convinced we tapped him on the shoulder and said time to go in a different direction. What is baffling though is that we thought Sandon was ready to be the new 6 without any contingency other than Chad T. I guarantee you if Keary was in the halves this season in his final year with us and everything else was the same (Walker injured long term), we’d be looking a lot better. Keary was nowhere near his best but wasn’t an abject passenger like Chad is. I’d like to think a pairing of Keary and Smith would’ve allowed SS to show his quality without overthinking and overplaying his hand.

Another example of poor planning. Unless we thought, let’s give Sandon 1 year (this year) to prove himself, assuming it was gonna be him and Sam in the halves, and if he’s no good we’ll look elsewhere. Which we appear to be doing right now with the DCE rumours.

Foketi just seems more physically ready for first grade, I think Steep's talent is evident and he holds himself well in defence but think he could do with some minutes into reserve grade to help build his running game. He was playing SG Ball this time last year, huge step up to be in first grade. You see some outside backs do that leap with some success but you rarely see forwards handle that kind of step up in grades so quickly.

It will be a good test against anyone we play this year. We are amongst the bottom 4 teams. Every game we will need some luck

Robbo is clueless in how to fix it.
To fix it he has to have players who are of large, muscular build....and aggressive.
Dragons have such players, their defence was too good for the Storm.
Slick passing, nice pass from Flanagan to Holmes, he ran through the Storm centre at pace and scored try.
Why don't we have Flanagan and Holmes? Dragons beat the Storm.
Heaven help us on Anzac Day!

More than some of our overpriced so called rep players are doing. Collins is getting bashed. Spencer has had a couple of good games since we signed him. Then there are people like Nat Butcher that is just ****ing legless in all aspects of the game
I personally would have kept May and Sitili and got rid of Butcher. I would be looking to replace both Leniu and Collins with maybe the Vaa bros as we are already getting flogged with Leniu and Collins not making a big difference so let these overhyped overpaid go and let’s promote those who can do a much better job for far less pay.

Not on your own at all mate. They won’t get another contract with the Chooks in my eyes. The old case of they were beasts & the size of men playing against boys, but seem very injury prone & soft against the real men. They were good against smaller opponents, but I haven’t seen that much to carry over, although I also think they grew so big they just don’t know how to use their size yet. I’d like to think they will make it, but I could see others passing them & then them packing up & heading home to QLD

Bit harsh. How many games have they played? I think one of them hasn’t even debuted for us yet.

One of them was on deaths door the other week. Need to give them time to grow. At least a couple seasons playing first grade.
