I didn’t expect much for the first 6 weeks , but it’s getting hard to watch.

Folk have been spoilt over the past 24 years with 8 GF's and 4 premierships.

Who would have thought that after making the GF in 1980 that it would be 20 years before another GF appearance in 2000 or after the 1975 premiership that it would be another 27 years before another premiership in 2002.

Swings and roundabouts , six of one, half dozen of the other and It will all come out in the wash.

I have a feeling we will improve a lot over coming weeks.
We have new combinations all over the park this year and a lot of young kids still learning the trade and will improve with more games under their belt.
We have proved in our last three games that our attack can still be as potent as it was last year with plenty of opportunities. We just haven't iced them yet apart from the Penrith game.
That last tackle option was one of our achilles tendons last week. I hope we go for the bomb option more often rather than the grubber. Also give Marky and Toia more early ball. Every time Marky gets that early ball gives me a warm fuzzy feeling in my pants.
No doubt we will be better by the time Sammy gets back and he will improve us even more.

As for immediate changes. I hope Elvis has left the building and will only play NSW Cup from now on.
I like the idea of Hugo or Elliot coming in. A bit of youth having a crack instead of old legs just floating around collecting their pension.
I'd risk Watto playing the full 80 minutes and drop ZDC. I wouldn't play a utility on the bench. We have enough players that can play different positions to cover injuries.
I'd love to see Losalu have another crack too but can't see it happening with our seniors back.

Watson has been great in the 9 so far this year, I genuinely think he's improved his level of play there.

Foketi was really good at lock against the Panthers, I'd be starting Butcher there with Radley out and bringing Foketi off the bench for impact.

Think Wong and Toia have shown some good signs this year but they've struggled to get any quality possession outside of Townsend so I'd be happy to see them stay in the side for a couple more weeks with a change of halfback.

I'd play Savala at no.6 and Sandon Smith at 7. Smith is not a five eighth. His passing selection is woeful.

From what I've seen of Savala in reserves he plays more like a five eighth than Sandon Smith does.

I agree mate. Playing week to week in the NRL is tough for a young player.

I didn't mind Dockar-Clay last week, I think our strongest team currently is probably:

I think that's our strongest side but I'd still leave Toia in until he does something catastrophic to lose his spot, dropping him would hurt his confidence significantly. Watson might not have trained that much at 6 during the pre-season but I've lost complete faith in Sandon Smith as anything other than maybe a utility 14 option and Zack Dockar-Clay whilst clearly a depth player is decent enough to fill hooker until Brandon returns.

In reality it'll be the same side as last week with Watson coming in and Radley being replaced.

I believe any success has to come off our forwards laying a solid foundation without nothing follows I would keep Fokeit at lock I thought his defence against Penrith was great so up to our forwards to aim up if not will be more of the crap we have seen this year
