It was clear as day that Souths players were playing for their Coach last night, bounced back from adversity to somehow get the win..

Wayne seems to have that effect on his teams, not sure why our players couldn’t do the same..

One of the worst losses in our history, very disappointing..

        Sure.

BUT most folk here follow the Chooks closely. They wanna see the best 17 in the squad.

So pointing out mistakes that haven't changed over the years dont make you fair weather. we've been simple error prone for years and it dont seem to get addressed. Imo Townsend should be flicked from our side asap, Steep (imo) is still not ready.....but hey thats my view.

You cant attack the view but taking a shot at the bloke with that view is out of order.

We just lost the 3rd game we could've put away. Stupid errors, no on field direction cost us again. No supporter is just gonna sit there and go sweet when the reasons are so bloody obvious that Townsend isnt up to it, Sandon like Sammy last year might need a few weeks in reserves.

Some blokes like Whyte, Billy, Teddy, Connor, Wong and Toia really had a crack, but that link between the forwards and backs is a rabble.

Anyways this pissing contest about who's the biggest and better supporter just gets away from the problems, and they they're problems that have to end and that starts with selections Robbo.

Clueless decision and to put it into some context of how clueless it was. Before last night our previous two games with Watson not on the field inside the final 20 We’d been out scored 30-0 add in last night it’s now 42-0

just because you know it's going to be a tough start to the season with a new team and missing half our spine doesn't mean it's any easier to take when you're 1 from 5. it's especially hard when we had chances to be 4 from 5.
for me there are enough positive signs to say that we can get a lot out of this season. as others have said defence - a key indicator of where you're at - has shown some good things. we've got some youngsters who look likely.
we play for comps and this season is an important building block for us to go on and do that. this club, with robbo at the helm, has a history of finishing seasons well so no way should anyone be thinking that robbo should go mid-season.

They had others playing out of position...this is a disgrace...

Then you have the constant errors & soft tries they concede most weeks.....they resemble a park footy team at times.

This is a loss that makes me sick...there's no excuse for this.

F##k Robbo off now...he offers nothing anymore.

Simple solution, give him a team of top shelf players to coach.

You know...like all those in the 2013, 2018, 2019 teams.

In the official team photo of the 2018 Premiers there are 36 players with coach Trent.
Of those 36 players, only 5 remain playing with the Roosters today

Teddy, Collins, Radley, N Butcher, Tupou

              From the 2019 team

              Add Crichton.

It’s frustrating and very, very disappointing to lose 3 games in a row that really, being in front with 20 to go we should have gone on to win all three. But we have so many new, inexperienced and young players in the team. We are still building combinations and the players are still learning what is required to win games at this level. We are also missing Sammy, our key half. Townsend is past it and was not recruited to be our main seven. I can see the positives in these young players coming through. They have enormous potential and Walker will improve the team considerably when he returns. He is the missing link. When he did his acl late last year I knew this would happen so I guess my expectations are lower. Still I agree it’s frustrating and I hate to see us lose each week especially against the vermin. But things will turn around in the future. As annoying as it is we just have to be patient.

Before this season we've had the players.

This coach has a convenient excuse to now dish up more of the same old rubbish.

The coach is the problem...he's done & dusted...he's got nothing to offer anymore.

How the hell can't some people see the decline in his coaching is beyond me.

Happy to let Sandon improve his kicking by gaining the experience of in game pressure. Hes not bad - strikes them well - just isn’t stepping up with the pressure. He must be out kicking Chad at training. Chad won’t be in firsts next week. Robbo has to do something even if it’s with an eye on the future. I think he swings the axe next week on Chad for sure and probably Dom as well if Marky Mark is fit.

Glad to see Billy get through the game and perform pretty well.
Fair points, but if Clownsend is kicking goals, his overall game might improve.

To an extent I agree. But remember it's almost half a side of rookies.

Just my view so far Foketi, Marky and Toia deserve regular 1st grade starts.

And here's what bugs me about Robbo and it's bloody plain as day that the halves aren't working out.

Chad shouldn't have started the 2nd half. Robbo keeps persisting with Chad....yeah we're short of options.

But if this year is rebuild why not chuck in Rodwell or Elliott ?

Even Docker would be a better bet.
Plus my big gripe is the errors...that scarface position and often out us under the pump.

Where I'll give Robbo credit is the lift in defence.

I think the majority of Easts supporters would agree that if this is a rebuilding year let's rebuild. We have plenty of young halves. Let Townsend do what he was recruited for, mentor young halves.

The Roosters defended 42 play the balls inside their 20m zone.

Are you suggesting they lacked desire last night? Your hate for Robbo blinds you at times.

Last comment on this current crisis. You have to have credibility to be a teacher/mentor. There's not a half at Easts (in any grade) who'd think they couldn't do better.

Seriously Lydon it is remarkable how Bennett seems to have this ' aura ' about him where players want to play for him.

I really wander if our players really like the coach. Of course I could be wrong.

Error after error after error continually under Robinson's tutelage. It is dead set mind boggling.

I’ve seen improvement in our defence this season and a major regression in our attack. Ironically our attack looked a bit clunky at the start of last season and the season before that when we just hung kicks up for our wingers whenever we got down there. Now we have limited halves that’s exactly what we should be doing (playing high percentage and safe) but we don’t! Baffling. Look so aimless coming out of our own end and can’t break teams down and build pressure.

We cannot run with Townsend until Sam gets back. It’s just not possible. I get it’s not right to single out players but it’s plain as day. He is making Sandon Smith worse aswell because the kid is now in two minds trying to play his natural game plus be an organiser.

The positive signs are the young guys like Foketi, Wong, Whyte, Toia to an extent and even Steep showing some quality and indicators that they can be long term first graders for us. Why not give a young half the chance to do the same?
