  • Manu Release?

Manu askes for release from Rugby on compassionate grounds ? If there is a god ..Come back play Fullback move Steady Eddt (teddy) to 5/8th..I would go for it its the only reason he left.
Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe

Teddy has been our best this year but Manu isn't a 5/8th-you're right he is a fullback.....so i like what your idea

I'm in two minds about this.

In one mind I wonder if we actually need Manu at this point. Billy Smith was great in his return game, Toia has been good this year, Tupou will still be with us for season 2026, Mark N is phenomenal, we have Dom Young as well who is a great attacking player.

In the other mind there is a question mark over Billy Smith and his injury proneness, Toia is brand new and might not be good enough to be a premiership winning centre in his second season and Dom Young might not ever fix his defensive problems, those reasons make me think Manu would be a great signing.

ATM we don’t need Manu but we also kind of do
tupou is retired after next year

toia and billy smith are great centres providing they stay on the field

          Marky N is a gun

Manu to me is a fulllback however Teddy could have 3/4 years ahead of him unless Teddy transitions to 6 eventually and Manu at 1

Why do people suddenly want Tedesco to play 5/8? Throwing the ball out the back of a play is completely different to play making at the line he would be a disaster in the 6 position just like Mini was.

If he returns to the NRL, it has to be with the Roosters. I don’t want him playing in any other jersey. Not sure where he’d fit in though. Robbo’s experiment playing him at 6 was a disaster.

Hopefully he can hold off until 29th June before we can make a decision.

Mini played 6? I must have wiped that from my memory.

Yes in 2009 when the cap thief was injured and Mini came back from his own long term injury didn't win a game and hardly scored points.

I’ve definitely erased that from my memory but I clearly remember the Braith at fullback experiment.

Teddy is a better fullback than Manu and neither of them are very good at 5/8. Fullback and center are their best positions. I think Manu may have lost the desire to play at NRL level. There are no definite facts in the Chammas article probably all bullshit

I personally hopes he stays playing RU.
Teddy is a specialist fullback who is still at the top of his game; why would we move him to accomodate Joey?
We have more than enough talent vying for a centre spot in Marky, Toia, and Billy, all of whom are better defenders than Joey.
Unless he can play as a metre-eating prop, we don’t need him.

To be fair to Braith, he didn't want to play fullback. He thought Freddy had rocks in his head.

Hmmmmm...he never seemed to have much last year like thinking ahead to all the Japanese sushi places.

Like if he comes back I hope it's with some fire and not just a landing place.
