  • Foketi, Losalu, Lenu, Collins, Butch, Steep....reckon we're covered.

This really has been a great year in the sense that guys like Toia, Marky, Hugo, Foketi are going to get better...and that's a scary thought for opposition teams.

      We must keep him.
      That's seriously keep him.
He and Walker must be our halves.

      • Hugo is getting a lot of wraps for his kicking game and rightly so but as the saying goes, a kick is only as good as its chase. I thought our kick chase was exceptional last night. Lots of numbers working together with a real intent not just to contain but smash their back three was fantastic.

        • Even though we won some changes are required

          1. Sandon needs to go - bring rodwell or Elliot in (I’d be surprised if robbo changes as savala went well and only young he may hang onto sandon lonher unfortunately
          2. Marky n must come back on the right wing
dom young needs time in nsw cup
          3. not a necessary change but wouldn’t mind seeing lasalu come in the bench for steep for more size! Leniu bought impact however steep got pushed back a few times

          • Marky N in for Toups. He has lost a ton of pace and hasn’t really done much. Sandon is our only goal kicker so think we are stuck with him until Walker is back.

You are treading on thin ice with that comment.

You're out of your mind if you think Toups is the winger who needs dropping
I support two NRL teams, the Roosters and whoevers playing Souths

                  Give yourself a little slap!

Savala is a goal kicker too.

                  Give yourself another little slap.

                    Billy Smith also kicks.

                    • Put $15 on the Roosters and managed to make $75 on this one. Really enjoyable game, I thought. Quite compelling. Roosters significantly better across the game, and probably deserved to win by a bit more.

Teddy was my MOTM, as he basically is every week if we're being honest. Watson, Billy, Butcher, Toia all strong as well among others. I actually really like the injection of Radley and Leniu off the bench at a similar time. Foketi is also rapidly rising up my list of favourite players. He makes some interersting choices with his runs, and is very physical.

Looks like Sandon Smith is going to be the whipping boy this year. He obviously had a fairly unhappy night last night, but acting like he is talentless is very strange. I like that he has a strong instinct to run and is actually quick. He also has a great passing game, when he selects the right option. I was furious when we had a man in the bin and he threw the intercept. Throwing the intercept is fine - God knows Maloney and Keary threw their fair share. The issue is the lack of game-state understanding. You've got about 8 minutes left to play 12-13, you're starting your set around the 40m line right after a penalty. In this situation, you just don't throw that pass. The risk-reward ratio is just skewed. These are the game-management areas that the Roosters have struggled with since Cronk left (and before he arrived). Later in the game when there is about 5 minutes to go, he also kicks a ball dead for a 7-tackle set. Why you don't just take the tackle and turn the ball over on their 10m line, I have no idea. Sandon isn't the only player guilty of this, but he is the one bungling it up more than anyone else at the moment.

This was a great win. It felt so good to actually grind out a win for the last 20-minutes, not really provide them with much opportunity and not get into a shoot-out. Feel like we haven't had a win like this in a long time - where we didn't blow a team off the park, or throw away a win repeatedly and have to win it at the death. Lovely control.

Side note, Walsh is borderline the worst Fullback in the comp at the moment. Still love watching him play, but he is in absolutely dreadful form. Not only in his direct errors that he makes, but putting his team under pressure with awful passes and movement.

If you mean the one in the first 10 minutes, that pass was from Savala by the way.

                        • I thought the aggression from Spencer and Angus was instrumental to our win.

Both of the Bruise Brothers just played on the right side of unhinged, and put the Broncos off their game.

The remaining young guys in the pack followed suit with hard tackling.

It is refreshing to see coach Robinson rebuilding the Bondi Wall.

Sandon stays in FG for the time being- as others have said, he has a dangerous running game, good pass and kicks goals - to go with all the errors he makes.

Does anyone remember Lindsay Collins?- he took forever to eliminate the droppsies in the play the ball.

Same with Sandon - you need to give him time to get the errors out of his game.

Dom Young is an enigma. Lets in his customary try by not marking his winger, then picks up and smashes Broncos players in open play.

With his rig he has the power and ability to become one of the best defensive wingers in the game - but I agree, he is hopeless at making his opposite- go figure.

Great games from Watson, Butch, Hugo, Billy Smith and Teddy.

I'm looking forward to going to the home games against the Panfers and the Merge.

I love Marky Mark and he should 100% be in the side every week but Toops?! Ya gotta be kidding me. Toops leaves the side when Toops tells the club he’s ready to leave.
