FINALLY we have a half with a decent boot....and more! He's won his spot already for when Sammy is back.

Sandon probably (mis)handled the ball more which took the heat off his overall involveme which suited the debut half.
The highlighted is the key part of his performance. A long kicking game is good but composure is great and it's what separates the good from the elite, without composure then the all the skills don't really matter. He has a lot of potential based on tonight's performance.

I said those exact words to my mates who came over to watch the game.

Excellent defender too. I can't wait to see more of his running game which apparently he is renowned for.

So glad we didn’t sign Hunt, don’t really want DCE either.

Its ironic isn't it that more than likely we sign DCE yet we possibly could have a DCE in Hugo if he's allowed to make that position his own.

You might need to have a quiet word with T Rob

Is Hugo the answer, who knows, he may have a shocker in the next few weeks, but I’m happy to ride out the wave, DCE is a desperate move, the broncos had two established halves tonight, and didn’t get the chocolates.

I think he will grow into that over time

It's important that we DON'T sign DCE!

Best kicking game I’ve seen by a Roosters 6 or 7 in a long time.

Agree with all the foregoing... Hugo was instrumental in suffocating brissys ability to come back with his long kicks...gave time for a chase where our defence could pin brissy down....the missing link in our team for so long...a hugo/ walker and a marky on the wing and we have a really good team...

With all the strong performances yesterday from the likes of Teddy, Billy, Nat, Watson, etc, Hugo's kicking game, especially in the last 20 minutes, is what pleased me the most.
Can he play on the left side?

he was great last night but it's early days for him. too early to say he should be our long term half but a good long kicking game is a definite plus. the defence will put more pressure on him next week and edwards won't be as lacklustre as walsh was. on the plus side, with a bit more confidence he might take the line on a bit more

Extremely frustrating if the DCE signing is a fact. I would rather have Hugo Savala, absolute gem.
