You've got to be happy with that performance.
Cooper Cronk style play by him tonight especially in the 2nd half with his kicking.

Outstanding kicking game I thought I was watching Ricky Stuart in his prime

big reason why we won. kicked long and smart. has a bit of pace with ball in hand to keep the defence guessing. can't remember him missing an important tackle

It will be very interesting to watch him over the next couple of weeks. He has a good running game and can break the line. As he grows in confidence I reckon he might start to really trouble a few defences.

I rated Hugo so good to see him get a chance - Hugo and Sandon played junior reps together as well

I didn't see the game as in the Russian Federation so only followed via VIP as per this site

How good to have a long kick for a change. He had Walsh gun shy by the end of the night. He will compliment Walker perfectly when he comes back

Started off poor with a wayward pass turning possession over attacking their line and he ended it like a seasoned professional who took control to lead us to the win. The way he was splitting the Broncos backline with his kicks was fantastic and a huge reason why we held out to win. Ricky Stuart has been mentioned and can't disagree there but his kicking was giving me real late career Brad Fittler vibes the way he turned their backs around and gave them a 20-30m disadvantage. Savala really embarrassed Walsh in the second tonight.

                Great long range kick
can see him being a long term 6 big body and boot
which we have lacked in the halves for a while

He was fantastic. It’s been a while since we’ve had a player with such a good long kick.

He get's some nice hang time on his long kicks giving his chasers that extra bit of time. How does he do that?

What a difference a kicking game makes.

Was impressed with his composure. Was worried the speed of first grade might get to him but in his limited involvements, he was solid.
Sandon probably (mis)handled the ball more which took the heat off his overall involveme which suited the debut half.

As others have said, how long have we been screaming for a long kicking game and bigger body in the halves!!!! Not that there was anybody available, but thats what we have needed for years... going to enjoy watching Hugo progess.
